Finally watched True Detective. What a show - brilliantly shot, superb performances and a thorough character study of the two main protagonists. Harrelson and McConaughey did absolutely justice to Marty and Rust.
For a change, a cop show or movie wasnt running at feverish pace with sharp cuts and spunky dialogues and explosions. The mood of the show was everything aided with some fantastic cinematography - extraordinary wide angle shots unseen on tv before

I am going to start Netflixing one of 2 shows over the weekend - either The Following or The Blacklist. Any recommendations which one I should go with? The Blacklist Finally got around to watching the Blacklist. Great show. Riveting stuff.

I've got to say a word or two about the 'Justified' series finale that was on Tuesday. When you love a show, and stick with it for six years, it's so rewarding to have the finale well done! Like so many people, I was disgusted with the finale of 'Dexter', which seemed gimmicky and disrespectful of the fans. This 'justified' finale was darn close to perfect, and nobody anticipated how it would end... at least not on the boards where I read about TV shows! There were actually polls for people to vote on who would survive, who would die... and the writers managed to come up with a scenario nobody had guessed! If you can find the rental DVD's or streaming (I think it's on Amazon Prime) I heartily recommend a watch of the whole series! Great writing and acting, engaging characters... it's got it all.

Daredevil- I think I have a new favourite marvel villain. Love the way they are developing Fisk so far.

I'm probably among the few who feel this but Game of Thrones first couple of episode so far this season have been rather underwhelming.(though my workmate who is a GOT fan kinda feels the same way). I mean I haven't really had any good/bad feelings for any characters and even Mance Raydor's death left me cold

I'm probably among the few who feel this but Game of Thrones first couple of episode so far this season have been rather underwhelming.(though my workmate who is a GOT fan kinda feels the same way). I mean I haven't really had any good/bad feelings for any characters I have always felt that way for all GoT seasons. They start off slow-ish, catching up on where they left off and setting up some new subplots (Sand Snakes was set up last time). And then by episode 4-5 it starts picking up pace. And after that its just an absolute thrill ride. I like this pacing format because it gets you invested in the characters this way, and when the "blow" comes it hits you a lot harder. True Detective followed something similar as well, which is why I loved it.
I was upset with no Arya in the first episode, so the second episode was more enjoyable for me. She is my favorite character right from the start.

^That's true they do always start slow, but something about this season feels different. I couldn't quite put my finger on it before but I think it's that it's almost a case of there being too many characters, and many of the interesting ones are dead. Plus deaths of characters are no longer really shocking cause there have been so many so that shock factor is also gone. Also I think it was a bad idea to split the book over two seasons.
But I do hope that like past seasons it will get me interested again.

Watched a bit of the first episode of Daredevil. Looks good. This might sound silly but I'm not sure if I like the idea of a blind superhero, feels a bit weird.

^It's better if you basically just think of him as having super powers cause really that's what they are (super enhanced senses). I finished whole season of Daredevil, overall it's an absolutely fantastic season-great character development and story telling, and would give it a 10/10 for sure. It's like a mixture of nolan's batman series with some marvel magic, which is ssuch an awesome combination. However that's not to say it wasn't flawed, but just that I didn't care for the flaws much by the end. And I"m usually more lenient with rating tv shows anyway. My problems though were some action scenes were just too unbelievable/over stylized with unnecessary acrobatics thrown in. also how does no one ever realise that DD is blind considering he has a mask pulled over his eyes. Plus I was annoyed in episode 9 how Fisk doesn't even bother taking the mask off when he has him at his mercy. And they never really explained why Fisk thought he was saving the city or how he wanted to do it. Plus his romance with Vanessa was a bit rushed- from Vanessa's point I mean. Didn't really understand why she fell in love with him so easily and quickly. Also this isn't a flaw but I"m so sad Wesley died, the actor was soo good, will miss him

I also finished the first season of Daredevil. It's very intense and gripping. Had me hooked. Each episode's very good, doesn't feel like they're 50+ minutes long. The vulnerability of the daredevil, considering he's supposed to be somewhat of a superhero, was interesting and adds greater tension to the fight scenes. also how does no one ever realise that DD is blind considering he has a mask pulled over his eyes. Also this isn't a flaw but I"m so sad Wesley died, the actor was soo good, will miss him I also don't get that about Fisk and how all the evil stuff he done was a necessary evil. Also, since he was blamed for the bombings and murders of the policemen, I don't get why the daredevil wasn't subject to more scrutiny and outrage. And you could question why he didn't think of getting a more protective suit earlier on or when his nurse friend first brought up the idea.

Ugh Gotham season finale, I have liked most of this season, though in second half it did seem to lose steam at points and that last episode was just a total mess. Really hope season 2 isn't going to be like this. I don't know what the writers were thinking with this episode.

iZombie is surprisingly good, stayed away from it cause i"m not into Zombies, but I was bored over the weekend so binge watched up to the current episode. ANd this show is a lot of fun. It has a sort of Buffy vibe to it.

After last night's episode, I am officially done with game of thrones. D&D have managed to turn everything to sh*t ...so yeah good fu*king bye
{Spoiler} I am so p***ed. I hate them so much. This is just unbelievable ...first they have daenerys get raped, than cersei and now Sansa. And all that for NOTHING.
That literally serves the plot in no way. I'm just really mad.

The Blacklist Finally got around to watching the Blacklist. Great show. Riveting stuff. I've also been watching The Blacklist recently, finished season 1, very interesting show. While it does have procedural elements, the overall arc is enough to keep me hooked. James Spader is just riveting to watch as well.

Season 1 set it up beautifully, but while Season 2 starts off with with a bang, it does meander in the middle with some "show me something I have not seen before" episodes. It finishes very well though.

Game of thrones, oh my god, I was so worried that Jon Snow was going to die . Thankfully it didn't happen. The season has finally gotten a bit interesting, but a little too late, I think this season overall has been very weak and doubt next two episodes will change my feeling on that drastically. Hopefully next season will be better. I haven't read the books after the first, but I wonder if this is the shows fault or just the book for this season being crap.

Watched Mad Men the first season out of curiosity. I was bored out of my mind! The lead is as cold as an ice! BAD. The only cool thing is the theme song.

I've been watching Prison Break recently, I never saw it when it was on TV other than a couple of episodes. It's very good so far, though I have some doubts on how they can keep this up for 4 seasons. Oh and Game of Thrones finale, well I can't really say I"m surprised though definitely sad. I have heard some rumours though that it might not be the last we see of jon snow , and I certainly hope that's true. But I dont' want to look it up too much as I"m not sure I want to spoil myself if it's happened/hasn't happened in books.

^I was just talking with a friend, we agreed that although there have been some (necessary!) changes, the show has brought everybody to pretty much the point they were at the end of GoT's last published book... #5. In other words -- book readers don't know either! GRR Martin had better get his act in gear! Although going on from here, the producers supposedly have inside info from Martin as to what direction he's going.

It's an amazing show, but be warned that it's pretty graphic. I'm not bothered, but some might be. That said... it's worth watching if only because {Spoiler : click here} SOMEONE gets a mention in the second episode!!! Our very own SRK! ... and you'll hear some familiar music and see a familiar face, as well.

I binged the first 8 episodes with in a day Netflix is on roll this year !! a must watch for everyone SAw this a while ago but forgot to comment, I totally agree, it's an amazing show. The story is vey interesting and executed really well, but the main highlight is the characters. Every character is so well written and acted. The emotions, the problems they deal with etc just feel so real (though Indian storyline in it was very unrealistic in certain parts but others I was impressed by) even if it's a supernatural show in other ways. I'm also impressed by the scale of the show, so many different countries featured and must have been pretty expensive.

The Inbetweeners - 10/10 Awesome show. Super funny and relatable. Pity that it's so short (only 3 seasons with six 20 min episodes). I also watched the two movies which are also great.
