SRK returns to work after freak accidentBy Mehul S Thakkar, Mumbai Mirror | Jan 24, 2014, 01.15 AM IST Shah Rukh Khan was shooting for his home production Happy New Year in a suburban hotel on Thursday noon, when bad luck struck. The 48-year-old actor, along with Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani, was filming in the ground floor of the hotel. The sequence required them to walk out from the reception hall to the lobby. Director Farah Khan canned the shot in the first take but SRK insisted on a retake. Five minutes later, all hell broke loose. An eyewitness told Mirror, "The actors returned back to their position and Farah called action. Abhishek, Sonu and Boman were walking ahead and Shah Rukh followed a few feet behind. Suddenly an unhinged door collapsed on him and he was on the floor." Farah, who was sitting behind the monitor, ran towards Shah Rukh without even calling 'cut'. Crew members also rushed to where he lay and picked up the door off him. "They saw blood oozing from his head, his shoulder was wounded as well," the source added. "So he was rushed to Nanavati hospital." Gauri Khan was informed of the incident and she rushed from the couple's Bandra bungalow Mannat to the hospital. She reached the hospital before her injured husband and was by his side as he left around 4 pm. From the hospital, SRK headed straight to the set to complete the scene disturbed by the errant door. The crew were waiting anxiously for him and as soon as they spotted their hero, they all clapped and cheered. www.mumbaimirror.com/entertainment/bollywood/SRK-returns-to-work-after-freak-accident/articleshow/29267860.cms

Well, I think, he is NOT "okay" ... even IF the physical injuries may be minor...at the first sight, at least. I am sure, ShahRukh will downplay what happened to him in front of other people...yet I am equally sure that it disturbs him...he very well know that accidents have a "meaning".
I deeply hope that what happened will really be "minor"...and the only & last threatening incident during the shooting of HappyNewYear.
As for Salman...if indeed he mentioned his today releasing movie in the same moment he commented on ShahRukh's accident, I give no credibility at all to any of the three hugs lately...then those were purely for show...and the "bond" with Aamir (and latter's twitter-"countdown" for Salman's movie) gets a very bitter taste...

I read two different versions of what he said. If this is what he said, then wow! Shocked that someone like himself, who is in the public eye so much, could be so insensitive! Surprised that he even has some fans..

'Shah Rukh carries ultra sound, physiotherapy machines to film sets'January 24, 2014 15:23 IST Shah Rukh Khan's long-time doctor Ali Irani talks about the superstar's injuries and health. Shah Rukh Khan, who has sustained many injuries in his long acting career, was injured once again on January 23, on the sets of a film. The 48-year-old actor was shooting for Farah Khan's Happy New Year at five-star hotel J W Marriott in Mumbai, when a door reportedly crashed on to his head and right shoulder. He was rushed to the neighbouring Nanavati Hospital and Dr Ali Irani, one of SRK's long-time doctors, attended to him. "Shah Rukh Khan injured his right shoulder and head," says Dr Irani. "We did a CT Scan for his head, knee and right shoulder as well as an MRI. The results were normal and we sent him back.” Dr Irani added that Shah Rukh resumed shooting after getting discharged. "He was back on the sets and he finished shooting for the day. He was advised to keep his right hand in a sling so that it doesn’t do any further damage to his shoulder,” adds the doctor. SRK had undergone a shoulder surgery on May 2013. Farah Khan later tweeted: 'Thank u all 4 ur concern m lov,@iamsrk is good n being stubborn about resuming shoot..so v r bk 2 work..god’s bn good.' The actor updated about his health as well, and tweeted: 'Have a few tests to do & Insha Allah all will be good. Few scars maybe. Will show them off cos as they say there r no scars for happiness.' Dr Irani has been a personal medical consultant to SRK for many years. When asked whether he has ever advised the actor to slow down, he says, “I don’t give Shah Rukh any advice, he knows how to take care of himself. Shah Rukh is also a human being and if you are working, injuries are going to happen. Everyone takes precaution not to hurt him.” Shah Rukh even carries equipment to take precaution against his previous injuries. "I don’t think any other actor carries as much protective equipment as Shah Rukh. He has an ultra sound machine, a physiotherapy machine and everything to protect his past injuries on his shoulder, back and knee. He carries these machines with him on the shoot. So whenever he calls us, we don’t have to take anything.” Dr Irani adds that Shah Rukh had some injuries from his college days as well. "Shah Rukh actively participated in football and cricket tournaments during his college days. Injuries do happen when you play sports and he too suffered minor injuries. But there's nothing to worry about any of these injuries," he says. www.rediff.com/movies/report/shah-rukh-carries-ultra-sound-physiotherapy-machines-to-film-sets/20140124.htm

The point is, even if he said it with "a chuckle" (assumption as I havn't watched the video yet), he DID make the statement! It's as in court if a statement is removed from records, the jury still heard it!

SRK's injury not 'minor', advised restIANS | Mumbai January 24, 2014 Last Updated at 23:16 IST Shah Rukh Khan's injury is said to be not as minor as was earlier reported. The superstar has suffered a shoulder fracture, his left knee's patellar tendon is torn and doctors have advised him complete rest. The 48-year-old suffered the injury while shooting Farah Khan's "Happy New Year" here Thursday. He was taken to a city hospital, where he was given immediate medical aid and then returned to the set. However, a source in the know-how of the events that ensued, told IANS that Shah Rukh went back to the hospital for more tests Thursday night. "Shah Rukh went through fresh set of tests last night post the shoot for the injuries he incurred on the sets while shooting yesterday. His right shoulder is fractured and left knee patella is torn. Doctors have advised him to take complete rest for the next two-three weeks," the source said on condition of anonymity. Post his injury, which is said to have been caused by a heavy door, the actor was taken to the Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital. "Happy New Year" director and Shah Rukh's good friend Farah said Thursday that the star of her film was "stubborn" about resuming the shoot, and that the "returning hero" even received a standing ovation on the sets for his bravado. Injuries are not new to Shah Rukh. While working in films, he had first suffered a hairline fracture on his knee cap while shooting for "Koyla" in the 1990s. In the past decade, he tore a shoulder muscle, suffered a back injury and has undergone surgery too. In 2011, his meniscus (cartilage) in his leg got ruptured when it got stuck in a puddle. Shah Rukh had even injured himself during "Ra.One". Just last year, he underwent a shoulder surgery to alleviate the pain which he endured throughout the shooting of the action-packed "Chennai Express". www.business-standard.com/article/news-ians/srk-s-injury-not-minor-advised-rest-114012401358_1.html Oh My God.

^It's not for us to start assigning blame. SOMEBODY certainly should have made sure that door was secured, but we don't know whose responsibility it was. Could have been the hotel, for all we know... I just hope whoever was responsible is dealt with appropriately.

It's really awful to read all this news about new injuries. I hoped they were minor. It's too unfair to him to get the trauma of his right shoulder again. I pray for his speedy recovery.

Accidents happen, it's just SRK's bad luck. You can be overly careful and still something can go wrong, so many people and things around. I hope this isn't too serious and doesn't have that many long-term effects.
