@pepper - I fall in the first category, and loved it too. I would give it a solid 8/10 The sea battle scenes were phenomenal really. And Eva Green - GodDamnnnn. She was just fab. If you love her already, you will love her even more after this movie. Like pepper said - she DOMINATES. Dominates every scene she is in, and you are just wishing for more of her when she is not present.

Just watched The Untouchables with my daughter - 9,9/10
Wonderful, heart-warming without ever being kitschy, funny, sad, simply great - nobody makes films like the French! Absolutely recommendable!

Captain America: Winter Soldier - 10/10
The movie was incredible ...easily the best marvel movie since IM1 (mind you ...I still think Avengers is highly overrated).

Wolf of Wall Street - 6/10 - What a random movie. It was alright. Way too much cussing and nudity. Just blah.
Hunger Games - the second part - 4/10 - Don't remember the name. These two are some of the most boring movies I have seen. At least the first one was a decent one-time watch. This one is just plain boring. It does not really make you care for any of its characters.

Captain America: Winter Soldier - 10/10The movie was incredible ...easily the best marvel movie since IM1 (mind you ...I still think Avengers is highly overrated). Saw this today, and i really enjoyed it too. Though I wouldnt' say it is the best marvel movie, but it's definitely in the top part. And it's better than the first Captain America for sure. One thing that stopped it being best is I would have liked a bit more character development particularly Black Widow, who i think once again does not have much to do other than fight. And the hand to hand fight scenes, I found were slightly headache inducing at points because of how constantly they kept cutting shots. It wasn't shaky cam exactly, but it felt a lot like it. Luckily I wasn't watching in 3 D, but even in 2D, it got bad a few times. It's unfortunate really because the action was actually choreographed extremely well from what I could see, so wish it was shot better. I get what they were trying to do- show everything superspeed because of how fast they can fight but they shouldn't have changed camera angles so much during them. I did like Chris Evans a lot. And I really enjoyed the overall story with Shield, hydra etc. Did not care much for Scarlett Johanson though it could be the writing to blame rather than her. One thing I'm really glad they improved on from Thor, is they didn't put any really silly humour at inappropriate moments in the climax. That really ruined the tension in Thor The Dark World. I would give it 8/10 probably.

Noah - 10/10
Noah was a very interesting and powerful film. It certainly has been a long while since a grand mainstream film has stirred up such beautiful controversy. It had some great aspects, such as Russell Crowe’s performance, the special effects, and the use of creative license to bring a raw realism to the film. It's a hauntingly hypnotic take on the biblical tale, emphasizing the size of the situation physically and emotionally. The film is rather twisted, with its allusions to mass genocide, extinction, and even instances of infanticide, it may be a heavy and disturbing watch for those expecting a wholesome saturday afternoon bible romp.
Blending fantasy, scripture, and intense interpersonal drama, Darren Aronofsky’s Noah is totally original and, love it or hate it, like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The best way to to enjoy the film is to go in with an open mind and understand that the filmmakers never set out to make a “religious” film or to speak only to a Christian audience. This is a film that is pure metaphor, that doesn’t shy away from the fantastic, but also doesn’t reject the meaningfulness of the original story and embraces the lyrical beauty of the The Book of Genesis. In years to come, once the muck of controversy washes away, film aficionados will look back at Noah and call it a masterpiece; I think it is nothing short.

Captain America - 9/10
As everyone has said. It was amazing. One of the best Marvel movies. I think my favorite after Iron Man and Avengers. Probably tied on the third spot with the underrated Incredible Hulk. Movie actually had a very interesting plotline
Chris Evans was excellent this time. He was very good as Captain America but I think his portrayal of Steve Rogers was even better. You could sense his discomfort with him being out of place in a different time, while he seemed to be most comfortable with the suit on. ScaJo and SLJ were very good. Most of the actions scenes were top (but definitely not worth watching in 3D)
PS: Can we please have a Black Widow + Nick Fury origins movie. I would pay twice the ticket price to watch that. It would be great to know how they came to be such integral parts of S.H.I.E.L.D. Especially with Black Widow's 'anti-American' past being mentioned
PS2: No idea what the 1st end of credit scene was referring to

Glad you like it Abhi. Also, the 1st end credits scene (with Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) was referring to Avengers 2: Age of Ultron

The Grand Budapest Hotel- Excellent! the acting was brilliant, I really liked Ralph fiennes and newcome Tony Revolori. The movie was visually stunning as well, and they really did a great job of bringing everythign to life, you really felt like you were transported into that world.

Serendipity - 9/10
I realize this is a really old movie. But I happened to catch it on TV over the weekend. Hate to admit it, but this is one of my favorite movies. It is just so well made. Two wonderful leads in Cusack (not a fan) and Beckinsale (big fan), a super supporting cast in Molly Shannon, Bridget Moynahan, Jeremy Piven and the funny Eugene Levy. Brilliant soundtrack that just gels with the movie - From Bap Kennedy's Moonlight Kiss to Northern Sky by Nick Drake - very carefully chosen and match the scenes perfectly. Whimsical, but beautiful.

Secret Life of Walter Mitty - 6.5/10The locales were stunning, the soundtrack was excellent and Ben Stiller gave a topnotch performance. But as a director, he just couldn't hold my attention. I think the movie was trying too hard to send a positive message and be feel-good, and as a result the feels felt forced and a bit fake. I also see that majority of people think that he actually visited Greenland, Iceland, fought a shark, jump onto a vessel from a helicopter, escaped a volcano, etc. But I am pretty damn sure he was daydreaming all of that as well. Red 2 - 6.5/10Decent action/comedy flick again. Hollywood's answer to masala-action movies Was fun to watch. Bruce Willis as a retired John McClane is always a delight. Mary-Louise Parker is just adorable Good one time watch

Rush- 9/10 This watch has been long overdue for me, I remember discussing with people on this forum as initially I hadn't been that interested since I don't know anything or care about Formula One, but the commetns here convinced me to want to watch it. However, while I got a copy of the movie, for some reason or another, did not see it until now. It was a great movie, loved the way it was shot, felt very real. Some truly breathtaking moments. The acting was brilliant too, I already liked Chris Hemsworth from Thor, and it was nice to see him in another movie. Daniel Bruhl was just excellent as Niki Lauda. The music was very fitting too, no surprise there though being Hans Zimmer. I' haven't ever disliked his work so far.

That doesn't surprise me to be honest, i've noticed your tastes are often very different to mine or you are just harsher with ratings/ I'm too nice haha. I hardly ever give movies a rating below 7. But that is partly cause I"m good at choosing movies I know I will like. So most movies that I might give lower ratings too, I probably won't even watch. Saw Divergent today. I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't been invited as I wasn't that impressed by trailers. But it was actually pretty good and could have been much better in fact if not for the climax which was a real letdown, it all just seemed too easy and convenient. However most of the movie was done very well. Not exactly a unique idea for a teen movie, a bit of mix of some dystopian books and stories- strongly resembles a short story I read in high school cant' remember name though. And also the recent Hunger Games and even reminded me of Harry potter (with the fractions being kinda like the houses), but I didn't mind that because it was fun. One thing going against it is it does very much have the first movie feel- what I mean is the whole movie feels like an introduction rather than a story on its own. However that's not necessarily a bad thing as long as future movies develop the world and stories more. I'm curious about the book now as it probably is more detailed like books generally are. 7/10

Our similarity is taste never seems to take a U-turn I have said it a million times already. Rush was a brilliant piece of movie making. It had such a solid script and execution that even non-F1 followers would enjoy the movie. I plan to make my parents watch the movie when I visit India this Fall. I am 100% sure they will love it too
I hated how Daniel Bruhl did not get an Oscar nomination for his brilliant portrayal of Nikki Lauda. He nailed the accent and the mannerisms. Definitely deserved a nomination for supporting actor as he wasn't the only main lead, and he should have won it too. Instead it went to freaking Jonah Hill for Wolf. *Grinds my gears*

^Yeah especially with hollywood movies, I think I practically always like the movies that you do. Agree about Daniel Bruhl, though perhaps supporting actor wouldn't make sense as he was the lead of the movie. IT just so happens the movie had two leads, but I htink calling either supporting wouldn't be right.
Are you going to be watching Godzilla by the way? I think it looks interesting.

I am totally psyched for Godzilla. Infact I had booked my tickets for yesterday's IMAX show. Reached the theater and found out, they mis-planned the ticket sales and it was for some private Warner Bros. event. They refunded my ticket and gave me a free ticket, but I was very disappointed. Will try to catch it either today or on Sunday now

But in this instance, I think it could possibly be because of me having seen BBC's Clash of the Titans. It really is just so much better than the movie (available on youtube if you are interested). One thing I will agree about, though - Daniel Brühl is amazing in the movie, it was like watching Niki Lauda himself.

Godzilla - 8/10
Just got back from my screening. It was a fun, but flawed movie. Cranston was great, Olson was good, Taylor-Johnson was bland (for his sake I hope he’s better in Age of Ultron). First act was great, second act was underwhelming, third act was fantastic. Bit lacking in Godzilla in the first half (although there's plenty of Muto action to make up for it), more than makes up for it when he does appear.
{} Fight teases were annoying. Actual fights were amazing. Atomic breath was f*cking awesome.
Long story short, Too much humans, NOT enough Godzilla!

Godzilla - 9/10I had no knowledge of Godzilla because I never saw the movies or anything. So I was expecting a regular Monster v/s Humans affair high on action and nothing else. But this turned out to be such a satisfying movie experience. Agree with @pepper about NOT enough Godzilla, but I feel that in itself made this movie special. It made you want more Godzilla and was a great setup for the inevitable sequel Plus the scenes with Godzilla were just EPIC. The term Epic is used very loosely these days for any random thing, but is genuinely apt for the last 30 mins of the movie. So much badassery in the end. The audience and me were literally cheering and clapping. The surrounding story was very well done, and the finale was superbly setup and concluded even better. Lots of win for this movie. PS: Special mention of the sky diving scene we see in the trailers. Brilliant !! Chilling

X-Men Days of Future Past - 10/10
Goddamn, great great movie. I've just come back from seeing it, and I'm still in awe at how awesome it is. The action and scale of the movie are epic. The cast was fantastic, especially McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Jackman. The sentinels were bad ass, especially the future ones ...creepy and unstoppable. Quicksilver was hilarious and so so cool ...he totaly steals the show. I hope he comes back for future movies. The story was very interesting and well done and the time travel aspect was flawlessly executed, providing the series with plenty of exciting possibilities. The pacing was imho perfect, the movie never dragged for me.
It was incredible how Singer blended the two universes of the old school cast with the First Class one. It was great to see the old actors back, even though they were used sparingly. I loved the ending ...just beautiful. I also liked how no continuity was ignored, even the unpopular X-Men 3 was acknowledged.
To me this is the best CBM since The Dark Knight. Can't wait to see it again.
