Another terrible bowling display today. At home too. And it hurts even more when a jerk like Kohli scores those runs. Now for the batsmen to put on a show and wipe that grin off that punk's face. Well as obnoxious as he might be, the punk has earned the grin. He is at an absolutely different level amongst his peers As a batsman, a sight to behold

^ I don't know what any of that has anything to do with what I said. He's still a punk and a jerk mixed together into one unbearable package. So...

Take Uthappa's torturous inning out, and we may have had a very good chance of winning even this one.

Very revealing season this for us. Has shown up every single chink in the team. Time for KKR to discard Lynn. There is not enough return on investment there. We could have spent that money on a much better batsman up top. And time for a new captain. Karthik lacks imagination for the T20 version of the game.

Brilliant knock indeed, and he should be left to do just that. Free him up from the burden of captaincy to play these innings. Alas, this looks to be in losing cause as well.

We are done for good. KKR'S bowling choices post Gambhir have been limited to non existent and this season exposed it more than ever before. Did we create a record for the losing streak beating RCB?

^ After the Kolkata pitch was relaid, they did well the first couple of seasons picking good fast bowlers to suit the pitch. I think they just expected the surface to start helping their spinners a lot earlier than it actually did. It is way into this season that it has actually started to inch closer to the spinners' paradise that it used to be 5 years ago.
My biggest problem is that I see a lot of team unity issues. Perhaps I am reading too much into what may be absolute nothing, but I can't seem to look past Uthappa's meandering inning the other night, and how much of a rebellion it screamed out to me. And I want to think that he was benched subsequently not for form issues, which he has but then so does everyone else in the team, but on disciplinary grounds.

This was a disastrous season for Robbie. He is the main batsman in the squad and he hardly ever fired. When Narine 's contribution as a batsman eclipses that of a mainstay, it's a massive problem.
Hope there is some retrospective about the overall lack of a "team play" this season. Missing Gambhir already.

About time we won. But bowling remains a concern. Hope we can sneak into the playoffs somehow

Those extra 32 runs made the difference. It means even 200 runs are not enough for kkr and that too when MI already lost 4 wicket in powerplay itself and req. run rate gone to almost 14.

^ It was ridiculously batsmen-favoring conditions, so I wouldn't blame the bowling too much here. But overall, yeah, the bowling has been terrible this season. Don't they have another Aussie pacer in the squad? It can't be worse, so why no give him a shot.

Ganguly as president of CAB, front-ended the change in Eden Garden pitch. It was slower pitch in the past, favoring the spinners heavily but now it turned out to be another Bangalore pitch thrashing bowlers
It was evident in recent MI match, where the bowling greats of IPL - Malinga and Bumrah were ineffective against Gill, Lynn and Russ
I would say, KKR downfall this season is not due to team ineffectiveness, this is our best KKR squad so far in all IPL's but it is due to pitch having no support for spinners and our bad luck with toss, putting us in disadvantage position of batting first

Yep, mirzay, I second this...in any way, fighting & struggling belongs to KKR...just like it belongs to ShahRukh...somehow...

Opposite teams also plays on same ground who took advantage of the pitch despite kkr's home ground. If kkr got best squad, I too agree, compare to before then why they are on bottom. Why there is no good pace bowler on whome you can easily trust (like bumra, rabada Archer, Bhubaneswar) in depth over. Believe me I did not have hope even after scoring 232 runs against Mumbai and not even sure when they lost 4 wkt for 45 in six over Our bench is weakest among all team.there is no good replacement if anyone get injured. And most important why to keep playing 3 regular spinners. Who get to bowl in depth over. If pitch really help to spinner then part time nitish Rana also can be effective it don't require 3 specialist spinner.

KKR were asked to bat first five times out of six straight defeats. 6th Match vs CSK at Chennai - Asked to Bat first, couldn't stand against 16 over of spin and bundled for 108/9 7th Match vs DC at Kolkota - Asked to bat first, 178 was competitive score but dew factor put our bowling in disadvantage, easy win for DC 8th Match vs CSK at Kolkota - Asked to bat first, 161 was not a bad score but Kuldeep and Chawla were taken for ride by Raina and Jadeja 10th Match vs SRH at Hyderabad - Asked to bat first, 159 was not a bad score, Naraine, Chawla and Cariappa were taken for ride by warner and Bairstow 11th Match vs RR at Kolkota - Asked to bat first, 175 was competative score, KKR bowled well but there is no support in pitch (specially the 50m short square leg boundary was taken full advantage by opposition during death) This was purely a bad luck and now I understand why RCB consistently stays at bottom of table even with strong batting line up. Its simply the Pitch that is flat and nothing in for bowlers + dew factor Please note that even during our 12th Match against MI, we were being asked to Bat first and we put up 232 purely on stroke play + muscle power against Malinga, Bumrah and Pandya which doesn't happen everyday.

And predictably, Simon Katich confirms not all is well within the camp.
Karthik's catch, though, was the catch of the IPL for me. While it doesn't look as spectacular as some of the superman off-the-ground flying ones, to run full-speed from start to finish and end up with a catch near third-man, while running backwards... Uff, just an incredible piece of athleticism. For me, the catch of the season that.
