I really loved X-Men First Class (probably in my top 5 superhero movies) and also X-Men Days of the Future Past was great too. However, the trailers for Apocalypse have not been too great, so my expectations are pretty medium, I think it will be a good movie, but don't know if it will be great.
Here's the latest trailer:

I have loved most of the X MEn movies, but this one looks a bit annoying - too much focus seems to be on Mystique. It looks like the wrote a story around Mystique to cash on Jennifer Lawrence's current popularity
And there are just way too many superhero movies coming out. Fourth one in 5 months this year, and there are another 5-6 yet to come out. No wonder Jungle Book over-performed as an alternative

Hope Sophie Sansa Turner has a chunky role

Yeah I agree about Jennifer Lawrence, they do seem to have given Mystique more just because it's her.
Wow are there are really 5-6 more superhero movies coming out this year, that is a lot. Didn't realise there were so many, I thought it was just two more (Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange)
This year definitely has seemed like a lot of superhero stuff, although I haven't minded it too much as each movie has been interesting well other than CW and BvS having similar basic plot, but the execution was totally different and Deadpool was definitely nothing like them. This one also looks to be quite different than the three movies so far so I'm still watching it.

I saw the movie, i think my expectations were pretty accurate, it's a good movie, but not a great one. The main problem is that the story is nothing special and Apocalypse as a villain not all that interesting. Also the whole Magneto being bad but still kinda ending up doing the right thing is getting a tad repetitive But I did like what they've done with Jean & Cyclops. Also the movie had some pretty intense scenes that were done really well. Overall it was entertaining and I wasn't bored.

Watched it. Wasn't that interested to see it and had lowish expectations given the trailers and reviews and I've never been too into the X-Men films. But I really, really liked it. Really good and engaging film. Awesome, even. My friend felt the same. I think our low expectations helped, because it really blew away us away with how good it turned out to be. I was expecting it to be a bit a drag.
One of the times I definitely disagree with the critics and naysayers. And it's not like finding a transformers or fast & furious film entertaining. This, IMO, is a genuinely good film.
The story appealed to me, even if it was cliched. The villain (apocalypse) was awesome and scary. It's really important in superhero films that there's a great villain, especially where the whole film hinges on them.
It was a serious film but, like Civil War, I loved the sporadic comedy scenes. The sequence where quicksilver shows up and rescues everyone from the X-Mansion was so frigging awesome and funny. Don't remember the last time I laughed that much at a scene inside the cinema.
I didn't know Wolverine was in this film so seeing him show up, briefly, was awesome.
There were some loopholes or few things that didn't add up but no biggie.
In terms of this year's superhero films: Civil War (9.5/10), X-Men Apocalypse (8.5/10), Deadpool (6/10) and Bvs (3/10).

^I actually saw it again, and liked it more than first time, so I agree with you, i'm now changing from 'good' to 'very good'. I think on first watch I was probably being a bit too critical while watching it cause I knew it would have problems from trailer itself.
But this was a solid film that was perhaps made better by the performances and the emotional attachment to characters- I mean I think because i was already involved with characters from First Class and Days of the Future Past, I liked this more than say an average moviegoer might. 8/10. It's funny but for me personally, all the three big superhero movies so far this year besides Deadpool have got the exact same rating from me, even if I might like them all for very different reasons. Deadpool was a little on the lower side though as it's not really my kinda humour. I gave it 7/10 but still that's pretty close. Interestingly, all the people I've seen the movies with have also liked all four movies. Though not everyone has seen all movies. But so far I haven't heard any negative response.

^ Nice. I would not mind watching this again.
I also didn't find deadpool all that funny. Civil war and apocalypse, ironically, had much funnier moments.

Have to totally agree with you guys about X-Men Apocalypse. It was awesome. Cliched, but awesome nevertheless. I might have even liked it as much as Civil War. I think it was hurt by the fact that it was the fourth superhero movie to come out in 5 months time - I had almost skipped it because of this very reason, but this was easily better than Deadpool and BvS. Definitely the movie with the best acting
Quicksilver stole the show - his bit is just too much fun
