This is part of the business, SRK has had many fall outs with directors specially those who directed RCE's big budget projects see Ra.One, Dilwale, and the same may happen to ALR because of Zero
By disappointments comes also bitterness from both sides, Shetty pretty much blamed SRK and Kajol for Dilwale's failure weeks after the release, there were articles on SRK and him not being on speaking terms since Dilwale.
Having said that, this is unnecessary en petty from Shetty's part.

What else he gonna say? He was defending himself for the half baked roles women had in Simmba. I havent seen Simmba or Golmaal but since Chennai and Golmal 3 had better parts for women he thinks it is okay to do that in Simmba. This is essentially the same thing Pyaar Ka Punchnama/ Sonu Ki Tittu makers said when they were criticized.
He talked about Golmaal 3 but one of the movies has Shah Rukh, so the headline. Who cares about Ajay D anyway?
That said, i think DP was the best part of Chennai Express. I think it is awesome that SRK is secure enough to have his co actors have equal roles or even better parts in his movies.

It was in response to Anupama asking him about his misogynist movies and how badly women are treated. He was using Chennai Express to show that's not the case and it was Deepika's movie. He also said the same about Golmaal and how it was not Ajay's movie but Kareena and others. It's not like he has a problem with Ajay. But nobody cares about Ajay anyway so it would not make headlines. RCE even worked on Simmba.
Rohit got into a fight with Anupama and started calling her a psuedo-intellectual in public. He is low class just like his movies. His success in making trash movies has gone to his head.
Not only that, Ranveer also has a very sleazy PR and they have deliberately been spreading these types of articles trying to put down other actors. Just today they were articles circulating everywhere about how Ranbir was offered a supporting role in Gully Boy unlike Ranveer the STAR who was offered the lead. They also have been spreading stuff about Ranveer being first choice for Zero. Not only that, Ranveer was caught red-handed for paying paparazzi to post stuff about him being the people's superstar and such. It reminds me of the chichorapanti Akshay Kumar did around 2007 when he and his team kept planting stuff about how Akshay had brought down SRK and he was the new king and started trying to call himself King Kumar. God knows what he was jumping around about because I don't even remember what movies he did at that time and I doubt anyone else does either. He settled down once it was obvious nobody was buying it.
Ranbir had a big blockbuster too but he is relatively subdued and classy and doesn't try to raise himself by putting down others.

Well how about saying the movie unlike his others gave equal parts to both the male and female lead. Saying it's Deepika's movie at this point seems like a dick move, especially with how he blamed Dilwale's failure already on SRK and Kajol. There is a lot of noticable bitterness there. I think DP was pretty good in CE, not trying to take away from her role but SRK's charm still carried it. He didn't exactly have to try hard (it was a simple role) but still did his best.

There is nothing wrong, as I said. Rohit was just trying to defend how his crap movies treat women. He said the same about Ajay's Golmaal but nobody cares about Ajay so it doesn't make headlines. More from Rohit
