FILMFARE : So what does it mean to act like Shah Rukh Khan ?
SHAH RUKH KHAN : I don’t believe in method. Technique is fine. I’ll cut my hair to play an army officer. The ‘’I’’ is important. I believe that no actor can reinvent his persona from film to film. If Shah Rukh Khan teaches music in Mohabbatein , he picks fights in Josh and murders in Baazigar. But it’s always Shah Rukh Khan doing what he’s asked to. If any other actor says that he makes the audience forget who he is , he’s lying.

I think, what ShahRukh is doing is to kind of appropriate the character ... he would say (kind of): this guy is this way in his thinking and acting, so, if I am this guy I'll give him (my) body language, (my) facial expressions, (my) voice, (my) feelings in the most honest way.
As for me, it was rare that I did not believe in the person he showed on screen.

I feel like you should have a balance of both method and spontaneity in your performance. Often when actors go full on method, the character becomes too bound and is too focused on just acting and forgets being reactive. And for an actor I feel it is easy to get into a character initially, but its hard to come out of it once you character starts developing and progressing in the movie - only the very best in the biz would be able to handle that.
Plus most of the movies today, whether Holly or Bolly hardly have that depth which requires complete method acting.
