Chris Gayle returning, could be deadly, but yo never know. It's a new year and he may not be in the same form.
Hope KKR can win this! I think we shoudl play Ryan instead of Shakib, not that Shakib's done badly. But I feel KKR should use a rotation scheme for a while, otherwise they just let good foreign players rot on the bench. And the start of the tournament is best time to do that. Then once you know who's doing best, you can keep playing them if you want to.

Agreed, they shouldn't let them rot on the bench for the whole tournament. They should also look to change the batting order, try to get Pathan to come in earlier so they can get the most out of him. But unfortunately I don't see them making any changes.

TenDo is too good a player to just be benched the entire season. Swapping Shakib for TenDo is a good move for today.

Chris Lynn is not a bad call either. I was very impressed with his big hitting down the ground in the Big Bash. He like to get down the track to the faster bowlers and belt them over long on and long off. I liked his selection during the auction, let's see if he can make it count now.

Gambhir's a walking wicket. Still a lot of batting to come...

Have high hopes from Chris Lynn. I feel his big hitting can make a big difference to the KKR middle order.

^ Same.
I heard KKR retained Gambhir for 12.5 crores, they'll be regretting that unless he shows a big turnaround in form.

We need to score around 180 atleast for this RCB lineup. Atleast they are going at 7rpo right now.

Another six for Lynn off Chahal, a lucky one though Quite the Lagaan moment

they should aim for 80 in 10 overs. Then 180 is definitely on the cards with 8 wkts in hand

I don't want to sound like a pessimistic peter, but the ease with which sixes are being hit just makes me wonder what will happen when Kohli and ABD walk in for RCB

82 of the first 10 overs. That's the difference a player like Lynn can make.

Time for Pathan to prove his worth .. seriously !
PS: Just as an Indian cricket fan though, its really nice to see Varun Aaron bowl fast and bowl so well

Pathan has played 46 innings for KKR and has scored one 50. LOL ! KKR staff must love him

Let's see if KKR have the guts to drop both Pathan and Gambhir...

Gambhir will probably be given another 2-3 chances especially if KKR win this match. Not much hope for Pathan though
We have completely lost the momentum of the first 10. Total might be around 160 now

I think the only reason KKR retained Pathan is so he will not be available to the opposition. Imagine if RCB had got Yuvraj and Yusuf! That would be one scary line-up.

Yusuf was never too dangerous even when he was in-form because he is so inconsistent. An out of form Yusuf is completely useless

I really hope KKR use Sunil Narine's batting skills a bit more. We know he has not score many international runs. But the bowling in the IPL is of a much lower standard. I think it is worth giving him a run a little higher up the order. He is a good hitter and can maybe come one down and heave a few over the top.

Another 15ish score for us on cards. I think I said this last year too, but once again this year we lack game changing batsmen. Narine cannot bowl us to a win every time. We need batsmen who come in and consistently score 40 from 20 balls and take the total from a mediocre 150 to a winning 180. Almost every other team has such players:
RCB - Kohli, ABD, UV, Albie CSK - MSD, Faf, Raina, Brendo KXIP - Maxwell, Miller, Bailey, Sehwag Delhi - JPD and Pietersen MI - Corey, Pollard, Rohit
etc. etc.
We have Pathan (lol) who hasn't scored forever. Guys like Utthappa, Kallis, Gambhir will very rarely score at a SR of 200+. SuryaKumar seems to be the only hope

^ Agree with most of the thing except for Uthappa. I think Uthappa can score at SR of 200+ but he needs to open the innings. I know. But he hasn't for a long long time. Never did it with RCB. Failed miserably with Pune too. He has done a fine job in Ranji Trophy, but that's a different ball game

Mokel getting angry lol. Maybe if he dint bowl on the leg stump (or on length), he wouldn't be whacked around the park

Agree with karan - we should try Russel or Tendo instead of Morkel. Umesh, Vinay, Chawla, Narine and Kallis along with Russel or Tendo gives us enough bowling options
