2 of my Contacts this week have advised that they got a virus from one of my email addresses. They asked me to take them off my Contact list, so I deleted ALL my Contacts. I dont know what the repercussions of this will be. so, my concerns are:why didnt Norton anti-bl**dy-virus let me know something was amiss? isnt it too late - isn't the damage already done? why didnt anyone else on my Contact list mention it? how can I avoid this? how can I know this is happening? why didnt I get the same email on another of my email addresses, cos it is also in my Contacts? should I delete all my Contacts on my other email addresses? is hotmail particularly vulnerable to this, or are yahoo and gmail just as bad? (ie free email addresses) these peole who make & spread these viruses, I call them cyber terrorists...cos I'm certainly terrorized by them!

thanks Kiran, I will try the adware remover you sugggested! But isnt the damage already done? I'm very very cautious online (in fact totally paranoid) and never click on unknown links. In fact, I'm scared even to use the link you suggested, but I trust you so I will. Why didnt Norton anti-virus tell me if there was a virus? and I dont think I've done any Browser add-ons...any idea what an example of that would be? EDIT: so I tried the AdwCleaner and Norton advised it was not safe and removed it.

Browser add ons are for example, adblocker, youtube downloader etc trust me , ignore Norton, download AdwCleaner and start "Search " after the search click on the "Report" ( no fear AdwCleaner not delete anything from your computer ) read the report and then decide what you want to do

thanks for your help, Kiran. Tried several times, but Norton removes it before I can hit RUN. apparently I have an outdated version on my computer, but Norton wont let me run the current version!
