tbh I'd rather see Madhuri/Srk in a mature love story. That'd be a real treat!

No thanks.
There are so many stories out there and so many different types of dramas that it's unnecessary to keep on returning to love stories and that too with Kajol again and again. The best way to make a character and story is do the proper world-building so they seem like real characters living out their real lives on screen. It's very hard to do that when you keep on repeating the same pairs which already come with their own history and baggage.
If he must do a love story, at least do it with someone like Tabu or Vidya Balan. At least it would have it's own freshness than running after Kajol millions of times.

I don't mind one bit. Some moments in Dilwale quite indicate that there can be some real dynamics and scope for a conflicted love relationship in a new film in the future which i would like to see them doing.

I agree, neeran Already in MyNameIsKhan you could see conflicts in the love story. There are so many types of mature love stories, there would be enough space for one with Kajol and one with Madhuri and one with Tabu (there was already a hint what that could be in Saathiya) and one with Vidya Basically, almost every movie-story contains a love story

My thoughts exactly, dnkdreamz...the multitude of comments giving THAT opinion, too, may have influenced him additionally (well, I have still to watch the movie...)

Actually, he did say the same during MNIK and even after it. Not just now. Indian media can make stories of one remark being asked by them at first and make them headlines. Nothing new.

Wish he had said this before he decided to make Dilwale....... SRK-Kajol reunion deserved a better podia than Dilwale I think the concerned statement from SRK is his way of saying the same Too late .....It does not have to be a love story something ala Do Dooni Chaar would have been more appropriate, but SRK wanted to do his pose and arms stretch thing and use it as the USP so we got Dilwale. Yeah i am sure looking back he may think i could have chosen a more sensible project, He said in one of his interviews that he was bored after a while, i dont blame him being.

I for one loved SRK and Kajol in Dilwale. And I'd really be excited if they came together in a love story again. Once you see their jodi everything else pales in comparison.

Neither my comment was aiming for that! I expressed the displeasure of making every post negative and talking about the same topic Dilwale and not liking it when the topic is about him wanting to do a mature love story in the future. And some calling it too late to do so degrading SRK intention continuously...Which is what is happening. Personal discussion is not what my aim in this.

neeran, maybe you misunderstood the "too late"...actually, I think qureshi wrote it in relation to Rohit Shetty not doing a mature love story in Dilwale. It's an opinion one can agree to or not. What I know till now, it seems to me that there is a kind of love story which is half young lovers - half mature lovers...so another movie could very well be a continuation of that second half (not concerning the story but their age ) Yes, he said the same after MyNameIsKhan...and for me it seems that Rohit might have done that in parts (some days still to wait to know definitely...)

Plus, I thought Dilwale was quite different for them as a couple. I remember what SRK once said about his role in KANK that it seemed to him like "Rahul ki maut" - basically that Dev was the anti-Rahul, destroying the perfect picture of Rahul! When I saw Dilwale I felt it was 'Raj+Simran ki maut'! If you know what I mean! And mean that as positive as possible!

pagalmariam, that's exactly the feeling I have, too...even without having watched the movie yet. There may be reminiscences of DilwaleDulhania but maybe only with a kind of wink making clear that in this movie it will be another kind of love and yet the same...somehow... ShahRukh could play a 'mature' love story with any actress but I think he feels a certain comfort with Kajol and a certain love for her he may not share with any other actress

nobody can beat the magic of SRK and Kajol ever! I don't like the idea of SRK with Tabu at all..Vidya still might work but Tabu..No way!

SRK, Kajol and Tabu in one film would be a dream. One pair we can get enough of and another we hardly got to see.

But with good writing and performances that can still happen with the SRKajol Jodi too. They were "fresh" in all of their movies apart from Dilwale (and Karan Arjun but the romance was secondary there anyway, doesnt count). In the latter they were sadly really fake but I think thats just because Rohit Shetty is a bad director who doesn't know how to do romance movies. Also hell no to your suggestions. Vidya sucks and Tabu doesn't fit with SRK at all. OT: A mature love story made by a capable director (not Rohit Shetty) instead of the huge disappointment that was Dilwale would have been great. Its a good idea, the SRKajol Jodi is just pure magic when used right and I think there is more potential here. They were wasted in Dilwale and playing the part of the young romantic guy/girl doesn't fit anymore.

I have been giving serious thought as to what Shah Rukh Khan could do with Jane Austen's Mr. Darcy character from Pride and Prejudice. Not like Gurinder Chadha's Bride and Prejudice though. That was comedy. Also, rathers than a movie I'd like to see him in a mini-series sorta like Colin Firth did a few years back I think Shah Rukh would be spectacular in the role. Shy, brooding, romantic doesn't know how to talk to women and when he does it's all wrong. I would absolutely love it
