Former president of Mexico meets Shah Rukh Khan
The fan following that Bollywood films and its stars enjoy worldwide never quite ceases to amaze.
Who would have known that Vicente Fox Quesada, the former President of Mexico (from 2000-2006), is a Shah Rukh Khan fan?
On Tuesday, February 11, during his visit to Mumbai, Fox came to meet Shah Rukh on the sets of his film, Happy New Year (HNY), which is currently being shot in RK Studios, Chembur, Mumbai. Fox was accompanied by his wife, Martha Fox, and the current Mexican ambassador to India, Jamie Nualart. A source present on the sets reveals, "This was the first time that Fox visited the sets of a Bollywood film, and he was extremely excited about it. He talked about his liking for India, its culture and its people. SRK was also heard saying that he has visited Mexico once. He went on to say that he would like to make a film there."
It seems Fox had heard a lot about SRK and Bollywood. The source says, "They discussed everything from Bollywood films, to things about Mexico. They even spoke about serious issues, such as the importance of education, and the need to provide better schooling facilities for future generations. SRK also spoke about how films get made in India, and shared information about his current film — the story, actors and locations."
We’ve been informed that even director Farah Khan came to greet the guests on the set. She also requested them to come and watch the shoot. The source says, "After Farah’s invitation, everyone headed towards the shoot location. They (the guests) watched an entire sequence being shot."
About his experience, Fox tells us, "We have been visiting many places, but after meeting SRK and talking to him, we feel he is a great person. The set is fabulous and the activity is just amazing. We hope that he will visit us in Mexico someday."
The former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, who visited India recently, had a great time meeting Shah Rukh Khan. His trip was organised by Kidzania, in whose Indian franchise Shah Rukh own some stake. Fox says, "I’m proud that Kidzania is Mexican and I am glad that it has SRK’s blessings and that he is looking into the Indian franchise of this wonderful way of educating kids with entertainment."
A source present on the sets says, "SRK and Fox chatted for a very long time. They bonded well and even spoke about meeting again in the future."
