Looks pretty legit and solid. Ranveer's energy level is brilliant in this performance. Looks like a role made only for him. I can see the youth lapping it up like anything

Looks pretty good honestly but I'm not liking the vibe Ranveer is giving off screen. Reminds me of how Ranbir in 2013 when he felt really superior and thought he would take over.

Gully Boy: With 700 Crores, Ranveer Singh Will Be The Only NEXT To Salman Khan To Achieve This Record! With upcoming Gully Boy, Ranveer is all set to achieve one more milestone. By Koimoi.com Team - February 13, 2019 Ranveer Singh has emerged as the next big thing of Bollywood, owing to the mighty hits like Padmaavat and Simmba. In 2018, the 33-year-old became the highest grossing actor in a single year and only second to Salman Khan to deliver one 300 crore and one 200 crore in a year. Now, with upcoming Gully Boy, Ranveer is all set to achieve one more milestone. Speaking about the box office numbers, Salman Khan is unbeatable as his 3 back-to-back releases have a record collection of approx 828 crores and that too, in a span of 12 months. Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (July 2015) amassed a lifetime total of 320.34 crores and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (November 2015) collected 207.40 crores. Wrestling-drama Sultan (July 2016) made a total of 300.45 crores. Ranveer Singh is on a winning spree since last year with Padmaavat (January 2018) raking a huge figure of 300.26 crores and Simmba (December 2018) collecting about 241 crores*, thus registering 541.26 crores* at the box office. Even though the numbers are staggering, surpassing Salman’s 828 crores is way out of reach but if Gully Boy work wonders at the box office (lifetime of 100 crores plus), which is highly expected, Ranveer could emerge as the only Bollywood actor to rake such a huge total number (650 crores plus) in such a short span of period (13 months), next to Salman Khan. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy is slated for a release on 14th February 2019. It features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Raaz in key roles. www.koimoi.com/box-office/gully-boy-with-700-crores-ranveer-singh-salman-khan-to-achieve-this-record/

Will watch it on Saturday if we get tickets, else Sunday for sure
As expected from the trailers, the movie is getting killer reviews. Excellent performances and direction. Only flaw seems to be that the movie is a bit long
TOI, TimesNow, DNA, News18, Pinkvilla - 4/5 BollywoodHungama, IndianExpress - 3.5/5 IndiaToday, Guardian - 3/5
and this is not even considering the rave reviews from international media houses

Gully Boy Competes With Biggies In Mumbai And Pune Thursday 14 February 2019 17.30 IST Box Office India Trade Network Gully Boy is competing with the biggest openers in Mumbai city and Pune. The final collection in both these cities could come out to be one of the top days in history. A Thugs of Hindostan collected 3.75 crore nett in Mumbai city (not including Thane) and 1.95 crore nett in Pune while both Bahubali - The Conclusion and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo were a little over 3.50 crore nett in Mumbai city and 1.85-1.90 crore nett in Pune. The other big ones were Sanju and Singham Returns which did 3.20 crore nett and 3.40 crore nett in Mumbai city on day one respectively. But outside these five films no film has even collected 3 crore nett in Mumbai city. Gully Boys has a shot at 3 crore nett, it does depend on the evening shows as advances were strong in Mumbai city so many key multiplexes will already have sold out tickets leaving less for the late shows. Basically the film has opened like a all India 30 crore nett opener in Mumbai city and Pune, obviously the all India number will not be that high here as other places are not as strong. Even if the film does 2.50-2.75 crore nett in Mumbai city it will still be competing with like of Tiger Zinda Hai and Happy New Year. Valentines Day has helped but possible less in Mumbai and Pune as there was a craze among the youth for this film in these parts. boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=4723

Gully Boy Box Office: From 55 Crores To 85 Crores, Ranveer Singh Has Already Beaten Shah Rukh Khan; Stays Below Salman Khan, Aamir Khan By Koimoi.com Team - February 14, 2019 2018 brought about a great run for Ranveer Singh the box office. He received praises for his badass portrayal as Khilji in Padmaavat and quirky role in Simmba. While both the movies had great a pre-release buzz, opening at 24 crores & 20.72 crores respectively, let’s see where his latest release Gully Boy will help him stand as compared to Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan & Aamir Khan’s last 3 films’ opening day collections. Shah Rukh Khan whose last 3 projects include Zero with an opening of 20.14 crores, Jab Harry Met Sejal – 15.25 crores and Raees – 20.42 crores, seem to have lost his form. While his fans are still eagerly waiting for him to recreate his magic at the theatre screens, the Day 1 total of these movies come up to only 55.81 crores. Talking about our Dabangg, Salman Khan, he has an impressive 34.10 crores in his kitty from Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). His other two, Race 3 which failed at the box office, still managed to rake in 29.17 crores on its opening day and Tubelight (2017) earned 21.15 crores. The total of these three add up to a whopping 84.42 crores. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan in terms of his last 3, has Thugs Of Hindostan that became the highest opening movie of all time with 50.75 crores, Dangal with 29.78 crores and Secret Superstar with only 4.80 crores, still manages to top the list with a grand total of 85.33 crores. Ranveer Singh has 44.72 crores in the box from his last 2 (Simmba & Padmaavat). With the early trends of Gully Boy predicting the movie to garner in between 15-20 crores, it will take his total between the range of 59.72 crores to 64.72 crores. This means Singh is all set to surpass Shah Rukh and that is inevitable! On the other hand, he still lies way behind Salman and Aamir. Albeit, this Gully Boy is at the peak of his career and it wouldn’t be long that he crosses these records with his upcoming projects. www.koimoi.com/box-office/gully-boy-box-office-ranveer-singh-shah-rukh-khan-salman-khan-aamir-khan/

This is a great start for the movie, and now it is to be seen in coming days to where it will stand in other box office arenas. By Koimoi.com Team - February 15, 2019 Gully Boy Box Office: With such impressive opening results on its Day 1, this Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt starrer is creating havoc at the box office! The movie has earned 19.40 crores opening, and when compared with the Simmba actor’s highest opening grossers of all time, where does it stand? Let’s find out! Ranveer’s highest Day 1 remains to be the magnum opus Padmaavat alongside wife Deepika Padukone, which garnered 24 crores (including paid previews). This is followed by his latest super-hit Simmba with a grand total of 20.72 crores on its opening day. Then on the list are Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (15.85 crores), Gunday (15.50 crores) and Bajirao Mastani (12.80 crores). Now with 3350 screens, Gully Boy’s collection of 19.40 crores has surpassed Goliyo Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela & Gunday in the list and has garnered the 3rd position for itself. This is a great start for the movie, and now it is to be seen in coming days to where it will stand in other box office arenas. Here’s a look at the opening day collections of Ranveer’s films: Recently, the sound of Apna Time Aayega reverberated at the Friedrichstadt-Palast here as Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh rapped away, much to the delight of the packed audience, at the world premiere of the forthcoming film Gully Boy at the 2019 Berlin International Film Festival. www.koimoi.com/box-office/gully-boy-box-office-with-18-70-crores-it-breaks-records-in-ranveer-singhs-highest-openers-list/

Take a bow Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti for giving us one of the best movies of the decade. Its been 5-6 hours since I watched it and me and family are still discussing it. Still so pumped about it
There is too much to say and discuss about this movie. Ranveer giving the performance of his career. Alia's fiery character. Supporting cast being equally brilliant. The script and screenplay were real winners though, because the story was very basic. The audience was not taken for granted with spoofed emotions and dialogues. So many subtle emotions and no over dramatization
And the final act by Gully Boy was just incredible. I literally had goosebumps at a couple of points and a lump in my throat at a couple other points
Just can't stop thinking about this movie. Will be rewatching it again over the week

So happy for Ranveer (and the filmmakers). Again Germany legs behind...no idea when I will be able to watch Gully Boy in a theatre (not everybody could travel to Berlin) but I'll definitely watch it.
Yeah, I really think that Ranveer is on a roll (and rightly so)...as I already wrote (somewhere) maybe we get a new superstar-pairing with the "Rans".
I have no qualms about any (if ever) similarity with the Eminem movie and only because the rap didn't originate in India there is, of course, an own rap-culture in India. I like that Murad's character is based on the two most prominent Mumbai rappers.

^ Still reading through it though. Just not that psyched about the movie to post anything, never was. Hindi rap sounded initially, and hasn't changed a bit, God-awful. You know how there are some movies that completely turn you off and you wouldn't watch it for even a million dollars? This just happens to be one of those for me.
