Meh. I have no idea why Siddharth Anand continues to be funded by YRF for his high budget low content unprofitable films.
Does he have something on Adi?

Yup ... all style, no story action flick. But HR is looking amazing in this one - as he did at his peak. Almost like Dhoom2's Mr. A

It looks good based on the trailer and certainly mounted on a huge scale but I also feel it's going to be low on substance and story like the director's other films. Not a single good dialogue in the trailer either which isn't a good sign.

This looks glossy & will do some decent business at BO. But some of the fans are swooning over the trailer as if they've discovered a holy grail of action film while all that it is, is a rehash of Mission Impossible & Fast and Furious films with some loud jarring background score. Why would anyone want to watch Videshi style action film simply because it is "Made in India"?

While the film has raked in over Rs 166.25 crore in just five days in India, it has also emerged as the highest opening weekend grosser of 2019 overseas. In its opening weekend, the film earned over Rs 50 crore in the overseas market, with UAE and other Gulf countries being the highest contributors to its earning. Overall, the film has done a box office business of over Rs 200 crore already. In just five days, War has also crossed the lifetime business of Kesari, Total Dhamaal, Saaho [Hindi version], Chhichhore, Super30 and Gully Boy. Released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), film War has shattered several other records. The film has recorded the highest Sunday collections of 2019, surpassing the Hindi version of blockbuster film Saaho (Rs 29.48 crore). Helmed by Siddarth Anand, War is the fifth film of Yash Raj production house to cross the Rs 100 crore mark within first-three days of release, followed by Dhoom 3, Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Considering its earnings, War can easily be assumed a hit. It could also be the highest grosser of both the actors in the days to come. Ecstatic Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff open up about WAR becoming a Rs. 200 crore blockbuster! By Bollywood Hungama News NetworkCreated: Oct 10, 2019 - 11:59 am IST YRF’s War sees two of the biggest action superstars, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff waging a ferocious war against each other. The high-octane film that sees these two pitted in a massive showdown across 7 countries as they go after each other relentlessly. Their fight and cat and mouse game has mesmerised audiences of all ages across the world. War is unstoppable at the box office as it cruised past the Rs. 200 crore mark in just seven days! Obviously, the two superstars are overwhelmed with the unanimous love and appreciation that the film has been receiving. Hrithik says, “We wanted to make a film that raises the bar of action films in India and could truly compete with the best of action spectacles being made in the West. We are all delighted that War has done just that and is getting incredible love and appreciation from audiences across the world. War is a genre-defining action film and I’m extremely happy for the entire cast and crew of War because we all have given our all and more to make this film a cut above. I’m delighted that YRF has again done something completely out of the box and given India a new action franchise. I’m overjoyed and humbled about the number of records that War has created so far. As an artist, it’s always amazing to touch new milestones and create new achievements as it validates the work that we put in but I’m most happy that I have contributed in making our industry grow with War.“ Towing a similar sentiment Tiger Shroff added, “I’m simply overwhelmed. It’s an absolute blessing that our film has been accepted widely and it’s definitely going to be a special one forever because I got to do this with my hero my idol Hrithik Roshan who I aspire to be and who I am inspired by. It is also my first time working with Yash Raj Films Production, Adi Chopra and I have had such a ball working with his production house. Everything was just so smooth sailing and everything was just so professional. I was really really appreciative of the fact that any brief encounter or interaction I had with Adi sir he would always, even though he is somebody so big in the industry and I am somebody so new starting out here, listen and hear my opinions out. I found that to be something that I felt really touched about the fact that he could listen to somebody who is so junior to him in the industry. And as for Siddharth Sir he is such a clear cut sharp director, wherever he puts the camera he makes it look enhanced amazing and beautiful, everything is a spectacle whenever he is behind the camera, other than that I couldn’t be more grateful to him cause he held my hand throughout this journey and more than a director he is also my friend now so I am blessed to have this opportunity. I am blessed that my first Rs. 200 is with such an amazing team.” www.bollywoodhungama.com/news/features/ecstatic-hrithik-roshan-tiger-shroff-open-war-becoming-rs-200-crore-blockbuster/

War Box Office Collection Day 8: Hrithik, Tiger Shroffs' film inches closer to smash Kabir Singh's record War box office collection: In terms of worldwide collection, War has minted Rs 307.78 crore, including Rs 216.65 crore in India. BusinessToday. In New Delhi Last Updated: October 10, 2019 | 10:14 IST War box office collection: Big-budgeted film War is on a roll at the box office. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroffs' action-thriller film has become the third-highest grosser of 2019 after surpassing Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal and Salman Khan's Bharat. Now, War is heading to be the top grosser of the year. This seems possible as War is just Rs 61.64 crore shy from surpassing this year's highest grosser, Shahid starrer Kabir Singh (Rs 278.24 crore). Additionally, the film will enjoy more footfall in the upcoming weeks until the release of Akshay Kumar's Housefull 4 hit the screens on October 25. War will next be clashing with Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar starrer The Sky is Pink; Taapsee Pannu and Bhumika Pednekar's Saand Ki Aankh; Vijay Raaz's Lootcase and Rajkummar Rao's Made in China, all of them are mid-range films and might not harm box office earnings of War that badly. War was released on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. It has become the second-blockbuster of Hrithik Roshan in just four months. His Super 30, which released on July 12, was also a big hit box office and earned Rs 146.94 crore. With two back-to-back hits, the 45-year-old actor said he feels encouraged as an artist and aims to do better work. In terms of worldwide collection, War has minted Rs 307.78 crore, including Rs 216.65 crore in India. With this, War has become the fifth Hindi film to collect Rs 200 crore in a week after Sultan, Baahubali 2- The Conclusion, Tiger Zinda Hai and Sanju. However, Baahubali 2- The Conclusion and Sanju have done it without a holiday week. Directed by Siddharth Anand, War movie is about a special agent Kabir (played by Hrithik Roshan) who has gone rogue and his student, Khalid (played by Tiger Shroff) is entrusted to take him down. The film also features Vaani Kapoor and veteran actor Ashutosh Raana in pivotal role. www.businesstoday.in/trending/box-office/war-box-office-collection-day-8-hrithik-roshan-tiger-shroffs-inches-closer-to-smash-kabir-singh-record/story/383843.html

War Box Office Collection Day 9: Hrithik Roshan And Tiger Shroff's Film Is Unstoppable At Rs. 238 Crore War box office collection: The film's second week collection will determine its lifetime business Entertainment | Written by Divya Goyal | Updated: October 11, 2019 13:57 IST HIGHLIGHTS The Hindi version of War alone collected Rs. 228.50 crore War, directed by Siddharth Anand, also stars Vaani Kapoor The film opened in theatres on October 2 NEW DELHI: War, starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, is killing it at the box office with its 'fantabulous collection' now at Rs. 238 crore, tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The Siddharth Anand-direction action film has enjoyed a blockbuster first week at the ticket window and the second week collections will determine its lifetime collection. Taran Adarsh wrote, "War has a fantabulous extended week 1... Fifth Hindi film to hit Rs. 200 crore mark in week 1/extended week 1... Biggest opener for Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Yahs Raj Films (crosses Sultan)... Week 2 is pivotal, and it will give an idea of its lifetime business." He also shared the day-wise break up the film's collection so far and the statistics also revealed that the film's Hindi version alone collected Rs. 228.50 crore while adding the collections of the Tamil and Telugu prints makes War's box office total Rs. 238.35 crore. Here's the updated box office reports card of War: War, produced by Yash Raj Films, is the story of a rogue Indian intelligence officer Kabir, played by Hrithik Roshan, who is being hunted by his former mentee Khalid, played by Tiger Shroff. The film has stunning action scenes and gripping chase sequences, which have been shot all over the world. War sustained box office competition with Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and Hollywood biggie Joker - all three films released on October 2. However, this week's big release The Sky Is Pink may dampen the progress of War by a few shades. The Sky Is Pink, starring Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim, is the love story of Aditi And Niren Chaudhary, as narrated by their daughter Aisha, who is dying due to a Busulfan Lung Damage. The Sky Is Pink is based on the real life story of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, whose life was cut short due to pulmonary fibrosis. The Sky Is Pink is directed by Shonali Bose. www.ndtv.com/entertainment/war-box-office-collection-day-9-hrithik-roshan-and-tiger-shroffs-film-is-unstoppable-at-rs-238-crore-2115210

War Box Office Collection Day 10: Hrithik, Tiger's movie takes both Indian, overseas markets by storm War box office collection day 10: The overall collections of Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff's movie so far in international markets is around Rs 64.47 crore. BusinessToday. In Last Updated: October 12, 2019 | 08:54 IST Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's latest movie War has not only performed exceedingly well in the domestic market, it has also taken the overseas market by storm. As per reports till Day 9, War's box office collection had touched Rs 228.50 crore. With the Tamil and Telugu versions, War had made Rs 238.35 crore in India. War's earnings were miles ahead of its competitors. War's box office collections on Friday stood at around Rs 6.50 crore, as per early estimates, taking the total collection of the movie to around Rs 244.85. The movie, so far, remains unchallenged at the box office and might comfortably make it to Rs 300 crore. When it comes to the international market, War has performed exceptionally well. The movie made $2.7 million in USA-Canada, $3.4 million in UAE-GCC, $600k in UK and $2.29 million in other markets. The overall collections so far in international markets is $9.09 million or around Rs 64.47 crore. The box office collection of War is likely to make it the highest-grossing film of the year, unless the upcoming releases Housefull 4 and Dabangg 3 prove their mettle. The earnings of War might have dipped but that is mostly because the holiday period is over and the movie has already spent more than a week at the box office. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's War has already overtaken the box office collections of 8 super hits released in 2019, namely Mission Mangal, Bharat, Kesari, Total Dhamaal, Saaho [Hindi version], Chhichhore, Super30 and Gully Boy. War is likely to overtake the collections of Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike and Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh within a matter of days. Directed by Siddharth Anand, War also features Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. www.businesstoday.in/trending/box-office/war-box-office-collection-day-10-hrithik-roshan-tiger-shroff-movie-indian-overseas-markets-by-storm/story/384244.html
