I love Tina Fey She is so talented. I don't think any season of 30Rock was dull. And she ended it perfectly.
I have tried Community, but just don't dig that show. Watched 2 episodes, then took a LONG break. Then re-watched the first 3. Never got a good vibe off it. It seemed too heavily based on cultural stereotypes and jokes. I would rather watch standup comedians if I wish to get into that territory Same issue with Big Bang Theory. It is just so ridiculously over the top with its stereotypes on nerds and geeks and foreigners etc. A very silly take on diversity in this day and age.

^im not a big bang theory fan either though I did watch first few seasons and it was ok at the time but I find it immensely overrated.
Community took me a some episodes to get into actually. But then I marathon ed it when I was on my own with not much to do.
By the way do you like black comedy cause while shows like Fargo and Orphan Black are dramas, they do still have a lot of that type of humour.

I love shows that have dark/sarcastic humor. Hence my love for South Park and Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Also Arthur). Will try checking out those shows, Fargo especially. But I find dramas very laborious to watch unless its exceptional like Game of Thrones or Sherlock. I love my 23 minutes episodes

Also another question: Has anyone here seen any of the following shows. If yes, would you recommend it (mostly for its humor) -
Louie, Scrubs, Wilfred, Spaced, Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Been watching Orange is the new BLack, at first I thought, I don't get what all the hype is but after a while, I really started loving this show. It's serious but also incredibly funny which is a strange combination but works.

Anyone watches The Legend of Korra, the last couple episodes have been really amazing. This and the first AVatar:The last Airbender are such amazing animated shows.
Also started watching Extant, so far really good, up to episode 4.
Under the Dome is another show I follow, it's not as great as other sci fi shows I've seen, but its still pretty good fun.

And coming next year… Broadchurch, ITV Series one captivated the nation and garnered three Baftas – now its creator Chris Chibnall is once again eating, sleeping and breathing Broadchurch as he oversees the much-anticipated second series on whiteboards in an office in his Dorset garden. “You have to be very methodical. It’s like a mathematical puzzle where you put all these blocks together and move them around for the most satisfying thing.” The recommission was announced during the closing credits of last year’s finale, with the return of David Tennant and Olivia Colman confirmed earlier this year, joined by newcomers Charlotte Rampling and James D’Arcy. Chibnall has always claimed there was a “very different story” he wanted to tell, but remains tight-lipped on just what that might be. “We’re very stricty. I’d love people to know as little as possible about it when it airs on ITV. I want you to follow the story when I’m telling it, not before.” One rare exception to the rule is a hint he’s hidden in a new novel, written by Erin Kelly and based upon the events of series one. “About three days before we went to press, Chris put in one tiny little clue about something that happens in series two,” reveals Kelly. “It’s something only the die-hards will pick up on, but there’s one line quite early in the book that won’t make sense to anybody.” www.radiotimes.com/news/2014-08-16/11-new-british-tv-dramas-you-wont-want-to-miss-this-autumn

Gotham first episode was really good, a few cheesy moments but that's usually expected in comic book show. However, overall I"m really excited about this season and I already love the actors which is most important thing.

I am going to start Netflixing one of 2 shows over the weekend - either The Following or The Blacklist. Any recommendations which one I should go with?

Except for the weird camera angles during the chase scene lol

The Flash pilot was also pretty good, again definitely some cheesy moments and it felt quite rushed- would have been better as two parter I think, but it looks like a really fun show. one thing I really liked was that they had the guy who played the original Flash in 90s series as Barry's dad. Thought that was a lovely pass the torch moment.
And the end scene was revealing the newspaper from the future was an awesome set up/hook for the viewers Will also be watching new season of Arrow. With Arrow, Gotham, Flash, Agents of Shield, its really superhero/comic book heaven on tv right now. Plus more shows coming up in future.

South Park has been quite different and interesting this season .. the continuity between the episodes is quite refreshing.
Revelations about "Lorde" cracked me up

^Only watching Gotham out of those. Agents of Shield every now and then Gotham is delightful to watch. Loved all 3 episodes so far. I think you would like them. Especially Arrow is very much inspired by Nolan's batman movies, similar style and tone. Though it does have some crappy romance stuff but overall it's really good. Flash, it's too early to tell how it will turn out, but at the moment it looks very entertaining. I think this one is probably more similar to Marvel movies in the sense that it is more light hearted rather than dark, which fits the character better. I haven't started second season of Agents of Shield yet but I watched all of the first season, it was really dull at first but got super interesting towards the end, so I"m keen to find out how they go with Season 2, but since i'm watching with someone else, I have to wait for her. Agree about Gotham, I've loved each episode as well. The way they are developing Cobblepot especially is great. On another note, I just watched the season 1 finale of Extant, and this is also a very good show, definitely recommend to sci fi fans. I really hope it gets renewed.

I did watch the first 3 episodes of Arrow. And never connected. I found the peripheral characters very boring. That's the problem with these hour long shows. They are forced to dilute the impact of the main plot with a bunch of dull sub-plots to fill the time (with a few exceptions). That's why I stick to my 23-24 minute long comedy shows

^It gets so much better though, especially once they start developing more of an arc and not just the standalone stories. You havne't met the main villain yet who is awesome, and if I remember correctly still haven't seen much of the island storyline which also gets super interesting. Of course it's up to you, but I really would suggest giving it some more episodes. I think episodes 5-9 is when th show really hit its stride and then it was pretty consistently good for me, I really loved most of the second half of season 1. If you don't like it at that stage, then yeah this show is definitely not for you.
I find a lot of shows do actually start rather slow and then pick up later, especially the 20 odd episode season long American shows. I think partly they don't want to develop too much of an arc early on because they are still attracting new viewers so if you haven't seen prior episodes it wont' matter. So I usually give them some time before giving up. Otherwise I would have missed out on a lot of good ones.

^Hmmm. I will try to try it It seems a bit impossible now with so many more shows already waiting for me to watch them. And honestly speaking, I am not too big into superheros. I enjoy the movies because they are so well made and so much fun. I am thinking of watching True Detectives next. and waiting for some good new comedies and some returning comedies as well.

I finally started watching 'The Flash'. And I can honestly say, that this is the best live action comic book-based tv show I've ever seen. Wow! Grant Gustin is just flawless!

Last episode of Gotham, whoa, that was brilliant. This show is really living up to the hype. I was optimistic as trialers did seem great, but still there was always a worry that how long could they stop it being repetitive or just another cop show without Batman present, but damn the way they are developing (minor spoiler) Penguin's rise adn the mob storyline is just so interesting

The *silly season* is coming up and many of the major series are finishing for the year. My current fave SCOTT & BAILEY (UK show) finished this week, and every else I'm watching (all UK shows) are repeats I've seen several times: Waking The Dead, Silent Witness, A Touch of Frost and Midsomer Murders.
