^ I don't mind not playing Mitch, given the conditions in Chennai especially. But Vinay Kumar is definitely beyond belief at this point. You cannot afford to carry someone like him every game. Games like these is when Karthik's inexperience as captain will come to play. We have been so spoiled with Gambhir that to see this team on the field look like 11 people that all play for a different team is something very strange. You see when the fielder caught Bravo and was rejoicing having no idea that it was a free hit? Wouldn't have happened under Gautam.

No Pls can anyone give me a link to live streaming as I used to watch IPL on osn cricket HD channel but unfortunately they lost the rights to air IPL2018. Star Network has worldwide rights to this event. Do you get Hotstar at your location?

I was cringing when KKR bought Vinay Kumar ... and twice in two games he proved why. He is the epitome of mediocrity in cricket.
Cannot bowl in powerplay, cannot bowl in death overs and can barely bat. Is an average fielder. What is he in the team for then ? Bowling a no-ball getting smashed for s 6 when defending 17 in the last over is horrific. I hope we discard him for the next game

Absolutely pathetic strategy from kkr. Narine's wicket would not have matter because he was not going to contribute in down the order Infact it would be bonus if he scored QuickFile 10 ball 25 or 20 ball 45 on opening slot but now kkr is on backfoot after uthappas wicket. Hope team reach 175 at least

Looks like we're going to have a terrible season.

Good performance this though. The top order is leaving a LOT to be desired. Especially Chris Lynn. Andre Russell is NOT going to bail us out every single game. Lynn, for all the starts he has had, needs to go really really big in at least one of the upcoming games. A hundred at the top is what will make his price tag worth it.

Good win still not satisfied reason is our bawler. Kkr was just lucky that rishabh Pant and maxwell got out on bad ball which should have been sent out of the park. Batting has improved a lot. This was 2nd 200 in last 4 game and 4 in last 11 years while batting first. Reason is obvious first 3 season ganguly and next 6 season Gambhir.
Guys what is your take on Mavi. He was really impressive yeasterday.

A magnificent win today against RR. And what an absolute masterclass in T20 middle-overs batting from Dinesh Karthik. Top of the table now, albeit with one extra game than the rest of the league. Still, I will take it. So good to see Karthik perform well today, you need your skipper to do well at all times, really helps a team.

This KKR unit seems to be the best of all seasons so far, consistently scoring high totals with hitters right from openers till no 8 and no more dependent on single performances Inexperienced captaincy might have costed us 3 losses but I'm not disappointed at all since we fought really well in all matches so far.

The bowling is pretty poor though. CSK has been a similar unit but their batting more than makes up for their bowling.

They lost because of their batting in the last game. Those last 5 overs really cost us. They have to figure out a better role for Shubman Gill to be honest. I reckon he should swap places with Rana for at least 2 games, just to see how it goes. He seems a touch player, not a power player to come in the last 5 and belt the ball. Rana has show he can do that, so it would make sense to do that.

On a sidenote, how long do you reckon its going to take Gambhir to start regretting his decision to go back to Delhi?

gangsta totally agreed about Shubham gill's place. He is not hard hitter but one fine batsman with silken touch. He reminds me Azar and mark Waugh. I would say Robbie place should swap instead of nitesh Rana. Some how Russell failed in depth over Robbie should be there to make up that failure with his slog hitting. Shubham can maintain run rate in first 10 overs similar to uthappas even without hitting sixes because he picks gaps very well. Regarding last game even 220 would not have enough the way kkr bowl and gayle n Rahul bat.

^ Yikes. What a fall.
Wasn't it a mutual decision between KKR and Gambhir, though? Gambhir clearly wanted to go back to Delhi and be the one to get them to their first title. If he hadn't wanted that, I think there was a chance KKR would have still kept him on, mostly because of how well he has captained this side in the past. But if KKR were the ones that decided to move on from the Gambhir era, I understand what you are saying, but from all I have read it seems like there was interest on Gambhir's side too.

Shubman Gill got a chance to get in early and played well today. More than the sorry effort with the ball, its Uthappa that is driving me nuts. 2 huge dropped catches on the boundary that cost us this game.

But what about Dinesh Karthik. Yet another masterclass in T20 batting today. What phenomenal form he is in. Only real poor performance today was from Mitch Johnson. Gotta rest him up and get Curran in next game. Having said that, perhaps KKR's best performance this season?

Mitch should be used after powerplays with right field setting, then see how big the physiological impact he can make on the opposition.

Tight slap to kkr captain and coach for overconfidence and experiments on wrong time. This was supposed to be easy win but failed badly in middle over (11-17) to accelerate run rate. This kind experiment can do one secure your place in play off They should understand that when narine opens inning krk batting looks strong with 7 batsman while he plays down the order its look they are playing with batsman short. And what is purpose to send shubham gill to open. He is good batsman for middle over.

Agree. Doesn't make sense to push Narine down the order. And Rana is a pain. Wonder when he will click

The worst loss this IPL I think. This should have been chased down easily.
So, who do KKR have coming up?
1. Mumbai Indians at home - home conditions etc etc, sure. But when was the last time we beat them? Going back to 2012 maybe? 2. Kings XI Punjab away - Chris Gayle scores big against us every single time. Tough. 3. Rajasthan Royals at home - should not be too bad. Archer vs Narine should be an easy battle for Archer to win. But they have not been doing well, so we should win this one handily. 4. Sunrisers Hyd away - Facing the BEST team in the competition away from home. Pencil in a loss here. Easily.
And this upcoming schedule is exactly why this previous game was so important. And they should have stuck with Narine in the powerplays. If I were a betting man, I'd be betting against KKR even making the playoffs. Mumbai could easily take over our position in the top 4.

Not true. Just... you know... weekend! I browse the forum from work. Good win, but they need to do a LOT more to advance to the playoff's. Whoa, look at that. KXIP folded for 88 and that really does help our cause, doesn't it? But, we HAVE To find a way to beat RR, or basically Jos Buttler....

We are happy that kkr won last game but there is nothing to proud of since team has posted highest total of the season but winning margin was mere 31 runs this shows how poor bowling attack is. Kkr is only team who conceded more 200 runs in current season This is the reason why people are not confident despite scoring huge total. After first match itself I mentioned that this year kkr got best batting side.

The two consecutive losses against MI upset my expectations with KKR. We had a great win against KXI on Sat, complete team effort but our bowling still lacks attacking skills.
Yadav + Chawla combo is neither containing runs nor our seamers taking wickets in powerplay.
If we deserve to stay alive in tournament, we need those magic spells from Narine, Rana and Russels to restrict opposition within 160

Big game today.KKR should bat 1st and score 200+ runs then i see them winning cause chasing 200+ runs is not kkr forte .

Nice comeback so far. Picking both Mavi and Krishna was a bold call, and given Kuldeep's excellent performance today, it is still an untested one. I wouldn't have done it, and I still wouldn't do it for the next game. Piyush gets in easily in place of Krishna for me. Krishna's catching has been absolutely appalling.

To move positive NRR, we need to chase down within 15 overs

^ Nah, they played it well. Forget the 15 over mark for now - win the two games, that is what counts. Terrific overall team performance this. Karthik played brilliantly yet again.
