Am I the only one who feels this movie has that 5-yr delayed release look. Everything looks so jaded and dull
And I wonder when Salman is step out of this masala genre again. Isnt he getting bored of doing the same thing over and over again ? He cant be that obsessed with BoxOffice results

That dialogue promo was bad. This film looks so outdated. It might do well, but the hype will sink fast afterwards. Nothing has this film going in its favour. Not the actors, music, promos, nothing, nada.

I have a feeling this film WON'T do well. They have already messed up the original, going by the promos. Moreover they have tried to straddle two extremely different genres in hopes of pleasing everybody. Salman seems to be aware of the mess going by his interviews. It won't flop of course courtesy the phenomenal opening it will get, but it might end up in the 150 range.

Wow.. when will they stop And another south Indian movie too. It would be interesting too find out what percentage of bollywood revenue have south remakes and sequels contributed in the last 4-5 years. Ofcourse, that is a discussion for another thread Edit: and looks like Stalin is a remake of a hollywood movie Pay it forward

LOL - that is so childish. I thought it was just Salman being an annoying kid on BiggBoss. Dint expect this from Amir who usually tries to 'project' an intellectual image of himself

There seems to be a twitter movement to boycott Jai Ho (it's being led by the author @chainacoffeemug).

Buzz is normal - this is neither a franchise, nor does it look an out and out masala. My take still remains the same, that it is not going to live up to expectations, and wrap around the 150 crore mark.
BOI is charging for detailed reports. The regular reports are still accessible

Does Jai Ho have any significant competition in the coming weeks ? Especially in the multiplexes ? Just want to make sure it doesn't get lucky with a long free run

Jai Ho Finds It Tough On Day One Friday 24 January 2014 22.00 IST Box Office India Trade Network Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailShare on printMore Sharing Services 1 Jai Ha has found it tough at the box office on day one. The multiplexes did not start that strongly and could not pick up while single screens started very well but at places there were cracks in the matinee and evening shows. It is cold in the North but still it should have collected much more. It was pretty clear in the afternoon that 20 crore nett was a huge task and as the day comes to an end the collections for the film will be around the 15 crore nett range. The film has suffered in the multiplexes with the lowest collections of a Salman Khan starrer since Wanted in 2009. The all India collections of films like Dabangg (2010) and Ready (2011) may remain lower when the final all India total of Jai Ho comes in but at multiplexes they recorded better collections. The film has been sold for huge prices in circuits where it has been sold and figures coming in from these circuits be it Rajasthan, West Bengal or CP Berar are not proportionate to the prices that distributors have paid. www.boxofficeindia.com/Details/art_detail/jaihofindsittoughondayone#.UuK6ORDb_IV

^FLOP! 15 crores is a joke. Ram Leela made more than that on it's first day with 2000 less screens. 15 crores on a Friday means not more than 25 crores on Sunday so it's probably going to be less 60 crores weekend and Sallu's movies trend terribly so this should end up around Ready at 120ish.

Jai Ho First Day CollectionsSaturday 25 January 2014 12.00 IST Box Office India Trade Network Jai Ha grossed around 16-16.25 crore nett approx on day one which is a decent collection for day one on a non holiday if it was the normal Hindi film release but Jai Ho had a lot of expectations and was Salman Khan's first release after more than a year. The film has been let done by multiplex all over, the collections all over at multiplexes be it a big city like Delhi or a smaller one like Moradabad are not up to the mark. the single screens have done good to very good business but even here it not bumper like a some of Salman Khan's other releases. The best business for the film has come in Gujarat which has helped the Mumbai circuit outperform as compared to North India which is the opposite as compared to the likes of Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger. The film should get a good jump on Sunday due to big holiday for Republic day but today (Saturday) may be tough for the film unless multiplexes improve and there is huge spare capacity for the film to do so. But even if Saturday was to do well and Sunday show good jump it will still mean the first big film of 2014 has managed to score the way it should have.. boxofficeindia.com/Details/art_detail/jaihofirstdaycollections#.UuRlvhDTnIV
