X-Men Days of Future Past - 10/10Goddamn, great great movie. I've just come back from seeing it, and I'm still in awe at how awesome it is. The action and scale of the movie are epic. The cast was fantastic, especially McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Jackman. The sentinels were bad ass, especially the future ones ...creepy and unstoppable. Quicksilver was hilarious and so so cool ...he totaly steals the show. I hope he comes back for future movies. The story was very interesting and well done and the time travel aspect was flawlessly executed, providing the series with plenty of exciting possibilities. The pacing was imho perfect, the movie never dragged for me. It was incredible how Singer blended the two universes of the old school cast with the First Class one. It was great to see the old actors back, even though they were used sparingly. I loved the ending ...just beautiful. I also liked how no continuity was ignored, even the unpopular X-Men 3 was acknowledged. To me this is the best CBM since The Dark Knight. Can't wait to see it again. Having seen the movie now, I think I agree with your review pretty much word for word. Loved everything about it. Great acting, action, interesting story. And it really had that strong emotional connection. It's definitely one of the best superhero movies. Though hard for me to say right now exactly how high I rank it as there's many I love. In fact I loved X-Men First Class immensely too so don't even know if I rank this above that. I think both were amazing and 10/10 movies.

10/10 from me as well. Its the perfect summer blockbuster movie Hardly any flaws (not to be confused with loopholes ) It was funny, had a good story, very good performances, good effects and action, etc etc etc. Loved it Best superhero movie after TDK ? Maybe. Hard to compare because TDK was not very comic-bookish and very Nolanized. Compared to other superhero movies, I would rate in the same league as Avengers, Iron Man 1 and Winter Soldier. Hard to decide on the order

Non-Stop (2014)- Awesome movie! Very edge of the seat thriller, surprisingly there isn't a lot of action as I expected, but it still keeps you interested constantly so it's actually better. Liam Neeson is just too cool, I've loved him for a long time and that continues with this. The ending was perhaps a slight let down, mainly due to the motivations of the baddie. And there was some typical silly over the top unrealistic stuff at the end as well which could have doen without. However, I still enjoyed the movie thoroughly. Wish I could have seen it in theatres, I wanted to but couldn't for one reason or another. 8/10

^ Nice. If it is even close to being as good as Taken, I am sure I will love it. But I did not realize - has the DVD already released? I have added it to my Netflix queue, but it says available only from 06/10. But its Netflix and they take their own sweet time.

I am sort of on an Ellen Page movie watching spree, because XMEN-DOFP reminded me how awesome she is If you guys have recommendations from her filmography, let me know. Genre doesn't matter because I watch anything as long as its good (or bad)Watched Juno - 8/10. Really liked it. The transition between different emotions might have been a bit fast-paced, but I think it worked well with the movie. Page was superb as Juno, and ably supported by a good cast Super - 7/10. More of a supporting role, and basically a darker (and less goofier) version of KickAss. Rainn Wilson decides to take matters in his own hands and become a superhero 'the Crimson Bolt' due to some stuff going bad in his life. And its a story of the conflict he faces while going through this process. Ellen Page is awesome here too .. despite a supporting role. Her eagerness on knowing someone who is a real-superhero is so entertaining to watch. A good movie with a good message. Might be a bit dull for some people though.

Maleficent - 3/10
This film is so bad, hilariously bad. It's so childish. The twist is awful and people were laughing during that scene. Angelina was great (by far the best thing in this movie), but not even her could save this crapfest. UGH!

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - 7/10
Visually stunning movie. And one that I think leaves it very open for interpretation. Personally, I took to viewing it as a straight-up feel-good movie and empowering Walter to have lived through the awesomeness of all his adventures.

He was still day dreaming and imagining those adventures.
{Spoiler}I think a lot of the scenes are a mish-mash of reality and Walter's head. It felt very open to interpretation. For instance, his cell-phone's PERFECT reception in the middle of nowhere sticks out. So does the Papa Johns in Iceland. Of course, the biggest giveaway is every small daydream of his that we see early on in the movie get blown up and repeated in the second half.
But then, that makes the girl strumming the guitar and getting him into action a dream inside a dream, doesn't it? That goes a bit too far. And what is with the skateboard? He got the skateboard in Iceland and if that was a daydream, how did it end up with his girl's kid? There is nothing in the movie to explain these.
So there are oddities on both sides. I just chose the feel-good ending of a shy everyday guy making an awesome adventure of his life.

gangsta - I don't fully agree with your every point. I think he did get those calls from eHarmony, he did acquire the skateboard but the circumstances and the setup for those were different from what he imagined it to be. He never visited those exotic locations and definitely never experienced jumping off a plane, a Shark Attack, a volcanic Eruption, skateboarding for several miles etc. within a matter of a day. I think it was just a movie about a guy bored with his real life who found solace in his imaginative world. Hence, the "secret life" of Walter Mitty. Which is why I did not really like it much. Plus I felt like the movie was trying really hard to force the feel-good emotions to its audience

About Time- 9/10 A fun time travel involved movie. Most time travel movies tend to be serious and/or heavy sci fi, but this is very normal with a twist. It's mainly a romantic comedy and family movie, however that was a nice change and I really enjoyed it. The father/son relationship is really wonderful. Actually all of the relationships shown are great but that one especially touched me a lot. There were some logic issues though but that tends to be with most time travel stuff anyway. However, there was one in particular that bugged me which was one of the very final scenes and stopped me giving this a 10.

Edge of Tomorrow - 9.95/10 (lol) Watched it last night. I did not have very high expectations from it because last year around the same time we had gotten Oblivion which failed to impress me. But holy freakin hell, this movie is just so bloody entertaining. And not just silly fun, genuinely edge-of-seat fun. Welcome to the third The story and the script are solid. The action is high on CGI but its very well done. Maybe a little confusing at times, but most of the times you know exactly what is going on. And I was a bit apprehensive about the whole Live, Die, Repeat concept that the Repeat part would get, well, repetitive. But it just kept on getting better and better. The best part of the movie is the subtle humor that has been infused in the story. I gave it 9.95 because maybe the ending was a bit cheesy, but its not that big a deal. Emily Blunt is awesome as the Full Metal Bi*ch. Might be a little biased as I adore her.
And I know Cruise gets a lot of flak for his off screen life choices, but he once again proves that when things fall in place there is no better bad-guy-fighter than Cruise He can thrill and charm at the same time, and he doesn't disappoint here.
Final note: This is the my favorite movie of the year so far and that's saying something because we have had Cap2 and XMEN.

Haven't watched the film but agree on what you about said Tom Cruise. I've been quite impressed by his performances in his recent films. It's a shame this film, like his other recent ones, probably won't be a big hit.

I hope word of mouth will catch on for Edge because it is actually a really good movie. A lot of people just don't watch his movies because they "dislike" his life choices and his participation in scientology.
But I think he is an awesome actor. Mission Impossible 4 was absolutely thrilling in 2011. Don't think anyone else could have pulled it off like Cruise did. I remember watching it thrice in theaters

Edge of Tomorrow, I was a bit apprehensive about as while the concept looked interesting, it also was something that could turn out awful. However reading your review, I will definitely try to see it.

abhijacko, saw Edge of Tomorrow and i totally agree with you. It was an excellent movie and especially teh way the 'repeat' concept was done was brilliant, I didn't get bored at all. It was interesting. And loved the humourous moments as well. Also it was interesting to see Tom Cruise portray a character who is such a total coward at the start and then you see him change slowly he really did great acting there. The ending was probably a bit of a copout but yeah I didn't mind it much either. The only thing I might say is that it's probably only a movie you can watch one time. I dont' think I would enjoy it much on rewatch, however not all movies need to have rewatch value.

Edge of Tomorrow - 10/10
Edge of Tomorrow was SUPER rad. It reminded me of old school sci-fi, especially Aliens which is kind of dear to me, so I enjoyed it a lot. Also Emily Blunt is such a bamf and Tom Cruise still got it. This was honestly one of the most entertaining, engaging, and original sci-fi films I’ve seen in years!
Ah, the joy of wondrous, well-written science fiction!

X-Men Days of Future Past - 100/10 What a movie - again! The X-Men series is close to perfect! The cast is fantastic - James McAvoy is great, great, great! Fassbender again is creepy and perfect for the role. Hugh Jackman - no words needed here . Perfect special effects and one of the movies which is brilliant in 3D (I actually don't like 3D). The plot was perfectly told and the action was epic! And what I love the most (with all X-Men movies) is, that they brilliantly can execute all - great action, perfect special effects, awesome dialogues and great humor. It is a must see for X-Men fans like me and actually for everyone. Knowing that there might be something after the end credits I waited - I always do this - and I am glad I did - good that we know now how the pyramides have been built - finally

The Wolf of Wall Street - 8/10 Avoided seeing this one for ages despite the glowing reviews cause i did not think it would be my kind of movie. However, because I love Leo, I did want to see it and I kept an open mind. Well I was partly wrong cause I did like it quite a lot, however not as much as most people did so I don't quite get the hype. But that's not the movies fault that it's hyped, so I don't hold that against it. And it was a very good, solid movie. Even though it was 3 hours, which is long for hollywood, it did not feel too long, it moved at a good pace. Leo was excellent, quite a challenging role for him and he pulled it off really well.

Transformers 4: 7.5/10 Delivered what it was expected to deliver - high octane action, plenty of CGI, transformers vs transformers action. The human element in this movie was the best out of all other transformers. The story was actually pretty decent too. The biggest flaw was the length and the editing. They could have easily edited out a good chunk of the movie. Basically .. everything that happened before China/HK was excellent. If instead of going to China, they had culminated the movie in the US itself with the boss fight for the "seed", I would give this movie a 9. But they had to put in the China parts to grab hold of that ever expanding market But good entertaining action movie. Dont expect anything more, because it is not trying to be anything more.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes- 9/10 Excellent, I liked the last one (Rise)a lot as well. It's really got a touching story to it, though it is quite predictable. The apes are amazingly done, such rich characters. hats off to the actors/motion capture teams and of course the writers. Most of the movie is focused on the apes in fact, but you never get bored.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes- 8/10 I liked it but at the same time I'm not that into the whole ape thing.
Hercules - 9/10 Loved it. It's fast paced with great action and acting and a right blend of humor and emotion. I'm surprised a lot of people didn't like it. I'm still working out whether Dwayne Johnson was wearing a wig or not though...

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 10/10
What a movie. I went in expecting a CGI-heavy-action movie (going by the trailers), and was once again pleasantly surprised at how action took the backseat to the ape v/s humans story. Except that it was not a v/s at all, and in the end was just two species striving to survive and behaving in a very similar manner when faced with similar situations. The parallels drawn between Apes and Humans were executed very well. And Ceasar stole the show, just like he did in the first movie
One of the best movies of the year

How to Train your Dragon 2 - 10/10Wonderful movie. On par with the 1st one, maybe even better. All the feels. If this movie doesn't win an Oscar, I will go berserk. The academy already robbed the 1st one (yeah I still think Toy Story 3 is overrated as hell ...sue me.) John Powell is still the man ...that music

The Amazing Spiderman 2 It was better than I expected but my expectations were fairly low with all the chick flick talk about it. The charcter moments were nice not too cheesy. Though some of thjokes and one lines fell totally flat. It had some amazing webbing scenes which is I really liked. Big improvement on first one. The main villain coukd have been better developed and I think they rushed the green goblin reveal. Andrew and Emma were both very good.
overall would give 7.5/10
