Rohit Shetty on Simmba and Zero release: We were coming on the same date earlier Director Rohit Shetty revealed that the film Simmba and Zero clash would have affected the box office numbers so both the teams mutually decided to not release their films on the same day. By: IANS | Mumbai | Published: September 22, 2018 12:32:10 pm Rohit Shetty directorial Simmba will release on December 28. Rohit Shetty revealed Friday that his upcoming film Simmba and Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero will not release on the same day. Rohit said but both the teams mutually decided to avert the clash. Shah Rukh’s Zero is releasing on December 21 while Simmba is now arriving in theatres on December 28. “One week is enough, where is the competition. We were coming on the same date earlier but then me, Karan Johar and Shah Rukh sat and discussed that if we come on the same day then business will get affected. There was no competition as such. It was like a mutual thing. If the film is good it will run,” Rohit told reporters at the Jagran Film Festival here. In Aanand L Rai’s Zero, SRK plays the role of a vertically challenged man. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Simmba will see Ranveer Singh as a cop. The film will also feature Sara Ali Khan. “It is a remake and remakes are being made since years. And there’s no harm in making remakes as maybe the younger generation has not caught up with those old films. Simmba has a message in it. And I think it is my best-written film till date,” Rohit said. indianexpress.com/article/entertainment/bollywood/rohit-shetty-simmba-zero-clash-release-date-5369421/

Looks okay !! Looks more on the levels of Singham 2 and Dabanng 2 than at Singham/Dabang levels
Ranveer looks weird in a "normal" look. Gotten too used to seeing him in period dramas maybe. Shouldnt hurt ZERO too much if ZERO has good content

I saw the original version titled Temper and content is very engaging for mass markets, a big emotional connect for rape events. I agree trailer is BS but adding elements of Singham with original story will actually enhance its market reach.
Zero will do away with 60% of business within its first week and both will survive its theatrical runs and will be declared super hits.
Whether Zero will do 250Cr + or 300Cr + will be decided by Monday factor but not Simbha

Very average promo. I have also never liked Ranveer. Felt he is overrated.
That said, I wouldn't rule out Rohit Shetty yet. He knows a thing or two about making engaging films 😄

I like Ranveer Singh, but he seems to be over acting. The trailer was just ok.

I like the reworking of Aankh Marey, but 2 in one film is a bit much.

This is so, so bad. I like a good masala movie but this is already a remake and they have also remade two songs.
Hope this one bombs, not because it affects ZERO but this is lazy filmmaking and just stupid. Rohit Shetty can do and have done better in the past.

He rarely does better, easily one of the worst BW directors..the only bearable movie was Singham

Pure garbage. They had to hide the likes and dislikes for the latest song because it was getting very high dislikes.
I will give up on the BW audience if they turn trash like this into a hit. Then they don't deserve any better.

The first Golmaal was quite funny. Sunday actually has to be one of his most honest efforts. Singham was decent too. But post these movies, he just lost it as the budgets went higher and higher and became too gimmicky Simmba seems to be pushing the boundaries of his worst traits

Man, that song is bad. It feels like Ranveer is playing a caricature of a cop.

I do have faith in Rohit, and given everyone's obsession with the halves, I can predict this will have a very strong second half which pretty much determines the fate of a film.

I am pretty sure this will be Rohit's best reviewed film till date - consensus being average (2.5 to 3), just so these critics can present their "open" mindedness. I also expect to read comments on the lines of Ranveer being Bollywood's future (LOL). I will be skipping this film even though I really enjoy Rohit's work, simply because I find Ranveer irritating.

The BW audience/critics deserve nothing other than idiotic masala trash. They've dug their own graves and are proudly lying in it. Let them enjoy.

So far the worst reviews are also better than what Rohit normally gets.
Ranveer is clearly bringing in the reviewer bias.
This may well be Rohit's first film to be reviewed fairly. About time IMO, he deserves the respect.

An intelligent (LOL) critic has tried to compare it to Pink. Someone needs to tell these guys who Rohit Shetty is and what films he makes.
