Thats what i meant about Agent Carter - they handled the feminist ideology of Carter having to fight a patriarchal society to make a name of her own, while keeping the show fun and engrossing. The balance was perfect
Season 2 was not as well received, but critics and audiences loved Season 1. Which is why it was renewed for the second season.
This is the season 1 consensus from RottemTomatoes "Critics Consensus: Focusing on Peggy Carter as a person first and an action hero second makes Marvel's Agent Carter a winning, stylish drama with bursts of excitement and an undercurrent of cheeky fun."
If WW can gain a similar consensus, it will be perfect

So apparently the Suicide Squad reshoot rumours were crap. It's not for 'adding humour' but some action shots. I never really believed it anyway cause it seems ridiculous for them to be able to so exactly as BvS is being released to add more humour in. If it really was a response to BvS it would happen a little later on, I mean it's not like you can just say "let's reshoot" and it happens immediately, they need to actually plan it, get the actors organised etc.. so they must have planned this early on
Plus I also have doubts about that person who claims that all the jokes are in the trailer only cause i"m sure David Ayer himself has said that Suicide Squad will have lots of humour in it way back at comic con.
Having said that, I actually am somewhat sceptical of this movie, mainly cause I think the concept is going to be incredibly hard to pull off and it will be very difficult to accept someone else as the Joker after Heath's incredible performance. Also I really wondered how much the general public would even be interested in a movie like this, though I have been surprised by how well liked the trailers have been (I think I read somewhere even more popular than Batman v Superman) so perhaps the public will embrace it. And then again, Deadpool recently did something similar too. So I guess if it's a 'good' movie, it should succeed.
On another note, Wonder woman is releasing a few weeks earlier, yay! I'm so happy that WB has done the exact opposite of what people were worried (that they might delay Wonder Woman). And there's two unannounced movies with release dates too, I get a feeling one of these is likely to be the Batman standalone movie. I'm sure with the mostly positive response that Ben's batman has got, they will be keen to have more of him.

Showed BvS to my mom today (4th time for me now, though only 3rd in theatres, I watched it online last time cause I was couldn't help it) she liked it too though she thought the doomsday fight went on too long (I disagree) and had too many explosions (which i agree). Funny thing she probably prefers the first half which for some is boring but she doesn't care about action anyway so it doesn't bother her. She liked the 'drama' and the 'serious themes' and she loved the acting. I'm only going to comment on things I haven't already cause there's so much I just forgot to talk about as I was caught up in all the other emotions or the flaws. Especially I just love Alfred in this, he has some amazing and funny lines, they are not the laugh out loud funny though, more dry/sarcastic humour, but it really is spot on characterisation. And Jeremy Irons is a fantastic actor so his facial expressions reveal so much. The moments between him and affleck are great. I really am looking forward to that Batman solo even if we've had so many batman movies already. Perry White is also so funny in this movie, he made me laugh at least three times, I guess I just love this type of humour. I really don't understand when people say this movie is joyless or humourless, I thought there were some very funny scenes in this even if overall the movie does have a rather serious tone. But then like I said, maybe it's just my kinda humour, i probably laughed more here than in Deadpool. Even Batman had funny lines when he says after saving Martha "It's ok..i'm a friend of your son's", that was just hilarious and then later when Superman asks him if he's found the spear "I've been a little busy" The visuals in this movie are really stunning too, so many scenes just made by jaw drop- like literally out of a comic book. Zack is definitely great at that, whatever other flaws he may have. I think I like this movie more every time I see it which is so strange, normally it's the opposite cause first time I am on a bit of a 'high' and then I come down from it and start to judge it properly. I have only seen a handful of movies in theatres three times and all of them have been Nolan's movies and Harry Potter. There's just something very special about this movie for me. I have even changed my mind about Zack directing Justice League, I no longer mind him still being there cause I kinda want to see him finish this story and i don't care if critics ends up hating it again and the audience has a mixed reaction, just as long as it makes enough money for sequels. After JL, we can always have someone else come on board to do future movies with their own vision.

A major move (IMO) from WB/DC regarding Justice League movie.
Snyder has been parted with his favorite cinematographer/director of photography, Larry Fong. They have worked together on BvS, Watchmen, 300, Sucker Punch (all very similar in style).
Fong has been replaced with Fabian Wagner who has worked on Game of Thrones and Sherlock - both these shows have excellent cinematography and look very rich on screen with a TV level budget. Cinematographers and cameramen can make of break a movie, so this is a very positive move IMO

^He did Game of Thrones and Sherlock! that's really cool. Though I never had issues with the cinematography, in fact I thought it was one of the highlights. But still will be nice to get someone new for JL as it should have a different look to MOS and BvS.

^Why bring up such an old interview, plus it's not even in context- I don't think he was being serious really,, he was just comparing to Watchmen and saying that what people think of as 'dark' is often not really all that dark. And I do get his point. Of course he doesn't really think Batman should be raped in prison, people take everything way too literally.
I can't believe how much people are really hating on Zack, I feel sorry for him. he doesn't deserve this, regardless of whether you like BvS or not, it is very clear that Zack took a lot of inspiration from some batman & superman comics and I think he did truly want to make the comic fans happy. He really put his heart into the movie. I think he just underestimated how much certain things can matter like the 'no killing' rules and he tried to cram too much into one movie. Plus some things don't translate well from comic to screen like the weird dream sequences etc (though I enjoyed them, but I can understand why general audience won't)

I brought it up because it showed up on my FB feed as trending - and its been all over the net for the past 4-5 days I read the whole interview. He sounded serious about it, and if not, then it is a very odd thing to say "lightly". And why this is important is because it kind of gives a glimpse into why he did what he did with MOS and BvS. He preferred "high brow" comics and found "normal" comic books boring because no one was having sex or killing each other. His words, not mine. I kind of imagine him as a angst-y teenager with a high pitched voice saying ' things weren't like dark enough for me, you know. I matured faster than other kids and wanted to see/read sex and violence'. And then 'Everyone's like, Nolan's Batman is so dark and all. But I could go wayyy darker and get him prison-raped. Nolan is not dark enough'He applied the same logic to Superman and produced a brooding, pseudo-realistic Superman. And I know you loved the movie, and you read comic books while I don't so you may be right about him sticking to comic books and pleasing comic book fans. But I am not entirely convinced. I know two friends in my immediate friend circle (one, my current roommate) who are avid comic book readers and absolutely hated what Snyder did to Superman and Batman. And these are guys who own books shelves full of comic books, animated series DVDs and dress up as Batman/Spiderman on Halloween and attend comic cons and what not.

Affleck has been hired as Executive Producer for Justice League movie - good decision
The director of Flash's solo movie has quit over "creative differences". Another possible good move maybe - the guy's filmography was pretty MEH
Lots of activity going on at WB/DC

I'm not saying all comic book fans like it, the movie is definitely divisive, I've never denied that. However, what I dont' appreciate it is how people are making out the movie to be a total disaster, when there's at least just as many people who love the movie as those who hate it. Otherwise, why would the early fan screening reports have been so fantastic- you really think all those people were just lying?? My theatre clapped at the end of the midnight screening, i dont' think people do that for any reason. Why would the movie have a rating of 7/10 on IMDB? Point is, plenty of fans liked the movie. In my personal life, I've only met one person who hated the movie so far. The rest ranged from loving it to thinking it was ok. But as always haters are always louder on the internet.
And I also don't like this Zack bashing going on, because even if you hate the movie, I don't think that's right, i've seen people call him mentally ill on the internet which is just crossing the line.. Ra One was a total disaster but that doesn't mean i'm bashing Anubhav Sinha for it. And this movie is nowhere near as bad as something like Ra One or to give a more relatable example, Batman & Robin or Batman Forever, but the way some people are reacting, it's like it is that bad.
Zack does need to learn from his mistakes for sure, he made some questionable decisions that alienated fans and I'm glad WB is making some changes, cause even I think the movie could have been much better and hopefully Ben Affleck being executive producer for JL might help with that, perhaps he can steer Zack right if he goes a bit out of the way.

Ofcourse it is not a disaster, it earned 800+ million dollars, although 60% of it was in the first week I believe. It falls in the same category as a Transformers movie that way, except that it under-performed while Transformers movies usually surprise with how much money they collect.
about audiences: There is no doubt there are people who liked this movie. IMDB/ Rotten scores are an indication of that, even though they are quite easy to manipulate. But still, the reactions have been mixed overall, not negative. Critics is a different scenario.
About RaOne. I completely blame the creative team, i.e. Anubhav Sinha for botching up a decent concept with poor execution. I mean the guy wrote the movie and directed it. That is a LOT of power. Which is why Snyder is being bashed and blamed for serving up a bummer - especially considering that he was the director and the creative head of not just BvS but all of DCEU. He has to cop the maximum blame. His 'vision' isn't sitting well with the general audiences at all.

^I think SRK had a lot more control with Ra One, so I blame him equally, but I"m not talking about just blame, i'm talking about bashing. There is a difference.

^^ SRK should be blamed too, ofcourse
And it is internet bashing - shouldn't be taken seriously.
Anyways, lets see if Affleck can reign in Snyder's natural instincts which is needed IMO. My interest in JL is building up again a little bit. I was all set to skip it since it was Snyder again

And yet you chose to waste a few minutes on the trailer... But jokes apart, I didn't really expect this to change anyones mind..just posted it for the few on here who liked the movie Personally im so psyched for it..cause it looks like it might fix the biggest issues i had with the movie-the shoddy editing and not enough time spent on scenes.

Watched the Ultimate Cut, it's definitely a technically better movie, I don't think anyone can really deny that, of course that doesn't mean you will still like it. I feel if you hated BvS for the basic story or characterisation of superman being too brooding and batman being too dark with the killing/branding then you will still hate it. But if you hated it for more technical reasons, like not flowing properly/editing/plot holes, then you could end up liking this version.
It certainly fixed the biggest problem for me which was editing and things just make a lot more sense in this one and in one case it completely changed a plotline and made it better. It also portrays Superman in a better light I feel as some of the issues people had in the theatrical are not present here.
While I still love the theatrical version, having now seen the Ultimate Cut, I don't think I'll ever rewatch the theatrical again. I give this version a 9/10. My only remaining problems really are that I would have preferred a different Lex Luthor and the movie does drag at points.
All I can say is bring on the Justice League, can't wait.

Read some of it Pretty cool, although I can't help but be skeptical of Snyder. Just don't have any faith in his abilities as a director and storyteller. Visually he is brilliant though And honestly, despite everything, if I was in that guys place I would have probably been going gaga over this visit too .. who wouldn't

I saw the Batman Vs Superman, Ultimate Cut too. It does give a better understanding of the plot points. I could not understand where Superman was coming from, this gives a better idea. Since I already knew about the tone of the film, it did not bother me in this watch. It a much more coherent story now.
Now my only problem is Lex, he was Joker without a smile and characteristic laughter. If Joker and this Lex were to come together, that would be the only difference. Or maybe I have been so impressed with Michael Rosenbaum performance as Lex in the TV show SmallVille that this Lunatic Lex seems like a bad version.

^Yeah I also think Michael Rosenbaum from Smallville is the best live action Luthor so far. he was brilliant and the best part of that show IMO. Did you know, something funny, Michael actually voices The Flash in the Justice League animated series that you've seen.
Though I think Jesse acted really well in BvS (particularly his talking scenes with Finch and Superman on the roof- I really think his expressions were spot on) but it's just the character is not how I would prefer him to be. I do prefer the more cold/calculating to the crazy because as you say we kinda already have crazy with Joker. (actually even JOker is not among my favourite Batman villains to be honest, I always prefered Ra's Al Gul more). However i'm hoping that iin the future, Jesse's Lex will be more traditional Lex -it did seem they were hinting that with his head being shaved at the end.

^I was sad to hear that, he seemed like a cool guy, but then again I haven't actually seen any of his iflm so no idea if he was actually good. But this movie especially has alread lost two directors which is no good. I hope they find someone good. To be honest, though I think instead of going for an indie director, they should go with more mainstream. Cause with indie ones there's always a risk factor, and DC hasn't had the best of luck with risks.
